Caffè Principe di Bianchi Lidia — Restaurant in Florence

The pastries tasted store bought. The Americano was nothing special. Out of all the cafes we went to in Italy, the pastries and coffee here were the least appealing. I would give the pastries and coffee 2/5 stars.

However, the service and treatment here was by far the worst. The lady was so rude. We sat here and waited for our next B&B check in with our luggage against the wall, completely out of everyone’s way. The cafe was practically empty anyways. Occasionally 1-2 people would come in and out. The lady asked us how long we were staying for, and I told her we were waiting for our B&B check in then taxi. At this point, we were here for about 2 hours but we bought several things, and weren’t even done with the coffee yet. Then 30 minutes later she came and told us she didn’t want us there with our luggage. It was so rude.

I’m all about supporting small businesses and hate leaving bad reviews but I still can’t believe the treatment here.

Tip: Caffe Lietta is literally across the street with much better pastries, coffee, service, and ambience. Definitely recommend it...

Straordinari. Accoglienza nel segno della simpatia in questo locale di famiglia a pochi passi dalla Porta San Gallo (a metà '800 sarebbe stato esattamente sotto le mura di Firenze). Un bel mix di stile retrò e arte contemporanea. Ottima vetrina di dolci e salati per la pausa caffè e interessanti proposte all'ora del punto pranzo. A proposito: porzioni abbondanti, cotture perfette e condimenti gustosi. I valori aggiunti son parecchi: i quotidiani al banco, la tranquilla Saletta Principe, l'angolo dei gelati, e poi l'esposizione di opere realizzate dal buon Francesco Forconi, in arte Skim, selezionate e disposte con cura, come in una galleria. Bravi!

PS: non perdetevi l'affogato del Vivoli. Già, proprio così. Realizzato da Leonardo e Luigi a regola d'arte, secondo la tradizione del maestro che ogni giorno, all'ombra di Santa Croce, accoglie migliaia di turisti. Per una deliziosa...

In orario d'aperitivo serale gli stuzzichini di accompagnamento vengono portati solo ad alcuni clienti, non so in base a quali parametri, probabilmente non a chi come me beve una bibita analcolica, nonostante il costo sia doppio rispetto qualsiasi altro locale. Se poi avete bisogno della toilette, dovete avere la fortuna di non capitare dopo qualcuno che aveva solidi bisogni, perché il bagno è sprovvisto di un normalissimo spazzolino che consenta di non lasciare tracce spiacevoli dietro di sé... per non parlare degli innumerevoli schizzi maleodoranti, segno di svariati utilizzi... Proprio ciò che ci si aspetta da un locale che vorrebbe atteggiarsi a "locale d'élite" e che di questo format...
