Before we arrived in Florence, I read in Panoram Italia an article about 10 Florentine foods not to miss. Tripe, bistecca and reboiled bread were among the 10 in the list. Reboiled bread or ribolitta was intriguing to me because it didn't sound you could make it taste good. So when I saw it on the menu, I had to try it. Well, they didn't disappoint. A very unassuming bowl of mush, but the flavour and the aroma that came out in the mouth was incredible! My wife had the clam spaghetti and it was also full of tastes. Best of all, the owner and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I love it. Our bill came out to be 31 euros. But when I paid with a 50, she returned 20 euros back and said forget about the extra euro. She knew l was a tourist, but she didn't take advantage of me. You really can't go wrong with someone like that. No wonder so many locals came in to eat. I would definitely go back if we had more time...
Read moreBig tourist trap! We ordered the meat and cheese platter with which is an appetizer. We did the same every meal in Italy. They asked us how many people is this appetizer for and we were 6 people. When we went to pay the bill they charged us 86 Euros for the platter! when we object they said that's the price of the appetizer x 6. We ordered these platters everywhere. This is meant to be shared! not be charged per person for it. They definitely didn't serve us the equivalent of 6 appetizers it was max 2 but we got charged for 6. On top of the all the food wasn't good. such a big bill for such bad food...
Read moreThis is a small restaurant, but is easy to find. The staff is friendly; they didn't even try to rush us out although they were closing to get ready for dinner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and shown a table. Also, they understand English well enough to take your order and the menu had English translations. When I paid the check, the cashier thanked me many times; she was very polite. The reason for 3 stars is because the portions are very small for the price. Very flavorful, though. If you are looking for a convenient place to eat in a nice setting, I still recommend...
