Pescepane — Restaurant in Florence

This very charming and unassuming restaurant has some of the best seafood I’ve had anywhere. We had tuna tartare, grilled squid, and fried zucchini flowers as appetizers and grilled octopus, spaghetti with clams, and tagliolini with seafood as main. All were amazing. We’ve eaten a lot of seafood on this trip (starting with 3 days in Venice and 5 in Florence) and this place was our favorite. The grilled pulpo was phenomenal - perfectly cooked, very tender. The service was wonderful - the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the overall ambience was really pleasant....

Sarò passato davanti a questo ristorante centinaia di volte ma non mi ero mai fermato... dopo averlo provato mi viene da pensare "Mannaggia, quante occasioni perse".

Non avevano prenotato ma siamo stati accolti gentilmente. Personale squisito e premuroso. Locale pulito e accogliente, musica di sottofondo perfetta. Tavolini ben disposti. Quindi primo impatto, ottimo.

Il menù non è ricco ma le proposte sono comunque varie, qualche antipasto, qualche primo e qualche secondo, dal crostino al fritto, con un un menù classico più tre proposte del giorno. L'ordine si fa autonomamente al tavolo, con una scheda da compilare, molto semplice.

I piatti sono ben preparati e presentati, ma mi sarei aspettato un po' di sapore in più. Ad esempio allo spaghetto che ho assaggiato, cotto perfettamente e buono, mancava un tocco sapido e un sughetto aggregante. Il fish&chips, buono e ben fritto, difettava solo in proporzione e non in sapore; un paio di palline di pesce in più e qualche patatina in meno e sarebbe stato perfetto. Anche la salsina tzatziki di accompagnamento homemade era molto buona. Carciofini fritti molto buoni.

Prezzi... il pesce a Firenze ha il suo costo.

Molto carina l'idea di portare il vino al bicchiere dentro delle bottigliette, anche se questo potrebbe fare storcere il naso a chi vorrebbe vedere l'etichetta; a me è piaciuto molto.

Quindi voto generale super positivo, posto già aggiunto ai miei preferiti e dove sicuramente tornerò in uno dei miei tanti giri in zona Sant'Ambrogio. Ve lo consiglio.

Un nota: da un posto che si chiama "Pescepane" mi aspetterei anche un bel cacciucco livornese... se lo mettete in pentola avvisate...

I visited this restaurant twice for dinner and the first time it was a the begining of the evening and the meal and service was very good. The second time it was late in the evening and things varied a bit as you could tell the energy and attention level was not the same. I ordered the same dishes but on the second night my seafood plate was missing some items and was overcooked. I did not get the tender juicy seafood I was expecting.
