Mister Pizza — Restaurant in Florence

I am extremely upset and disappointed I wasted my appetite and time at this place. Firstly, the restaurant was not air conditioned (31C outside!!) so it was pretty unbearable to be there. Despite that, I was excited to try the pizza as the reviews were very promising and the waitress recommended “premium” pizzas with high quality ingredients, and of course being in Italy I was eager to try. FYI the premium options were €25-28 per pizza vs other pizzas were around €12. One of the €25 pizzas that she recommended was SO DRY I could not even chew it, it contained literally just bread, meat and burrata, nothing else! When I told the waitress, she agreed it’s strange it doesn’t have tomato base, she then proceeded to check with the chef. And eventually she just told me it’s how people like it and it’s my problem🤯 I didn’t eat this pizza in the end (I was SO hot in this restaurant and her lack of care for my satisfaction killed me appetite and desire to be there, not to mention the pizza simply did not taste good!!). And I would also add that the menu description was very misleading about that, 0 mention that it comes without a standard tomato base. I was shocked she still made me pay for this pizza that I didn’t even eat!! The 2 most important takeaways are: 1. Do not make your customers pay for meals that are inedible and I was very clear after my first 2 bites that this is not what I expected/wanted. 2. Make your menu clearer about...

Mister Pizza near the Duomo in Florence, Italy, truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional quality of their pizza.

She took the time to understand our preferences and made some excellent recommendations that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. Her passion for the food they serve was evident, and it added a personal touch to our visit.

To he honest. Not sure what the hype was about.

Waited for close to 45min-1hr for our food. Pretty sure the first staff who ordered our food or the kitchen forgot about us because the other table who came after us or ordered after us had their food arrived way before us. Does it really take 40 plus minutes to oven baked a pizza?

When it was passed the 30min mark, we informed the waitress and she told us that it will come about in a minute and told us to wait. Which we did. And around the 40min mark, we informed another waitress who she helped checked. At this point I'm pretty sure the order did not go through, but she told us that the order is in the kitchen. Thereafter, when we realised that another table had their food, I was prepared to cancel and leave. So I reach out to the only male staff and told him if the food is not ready, please cancel cause I would like to leave.

I guess lucky for them? He went to check and food was at the counter ready to be served.

Food was alright. Is almost impossible to cut with the knives that were provided. Either crusts were too hard or knives were weak. And is not just us. I noticed the tables beside us had issue in cutting too.
