STOP DO NOT PASS GO!! In the shadow of the Duomo!! We had left the Academe walking back to our car after a long day in Florence. We looked at the menu as we were passing by. The food sounded good but we had to get to the parking meter to escape a ticket, the walk was a long way. At the car we bought more time an decided not to walk back it was far. As we walked back in the direction of Osteria OK we stopped at a couple of restaurants, alas they were not open. We deicided we would press on to get to Osteria OK. WOW!!! We sat down and opened the menu. I had just seen an episode of Stanley Tucci's series on food in Italy and he had just made an entire episode about Tuscan Bread soup. Then my wife said you have to read the story about the owner. It was a short but powerful story about a woman Cristina pursuing her dream to open a restaurant. I was sold!! Eric our waiter took our order. We both ordered the Tuscan Bean Stew, the Risotto with Zucchini and the Gnochi with walnuts, cream and pears. I had the Chianti and my wife had a house white wine. We were both BLOWN AWAY!! Crisina stopped by to say hello, Eric was wonderful and Mickie was sweet to tell us all about the 3 day process to make the Tuscan Bean Stew!! Two days later we came back to town to see the Duomo, of course amazing but my wife would not stop at any other restaurant as she had been dreaming about the delicious saffron, zucchini risotto!! Again the 2nd meal was amazing too! Cristina, Eric & Mickie Thank you! ...

Had my fourth meal here tonight. Found other places to be stressful when ordering around my allergy but Caffe Ok has been very kind and thoughtful with this, helping me navigate the menu to appropriate options. My favorites here so far are the cappuccinos โ Iโve had 5 now and Iโm picky about coffee, ravioli made onsite with shaved truffle, fresh orange juice, and the smoked salmon and cheese breakfast sandwich. Tbh I ordered the truffle ravioli 2 nights in a rowโ itโs my husbands favorite too. The breads served with breakfast omelettes are also delish. Really nice ambiance as well with a relaxed, festive, and inviting feel. See both tourist and local customers here.
Reading the 1-star reviews which seem fake or wildly misleading encouraged me to add a few extra details:
Rudest, racist waitress I have met. We approached the restaurant and their was an empty table outside for two, which was perfect. I asked for a table for 2. She said inside or outside and I said outside would be lovely, suggesting the table. She went sit here, I said Grazie Mille. As we sat down, she berated me and said, "You can say Thank you", which I had done (thanks a million). The whole restaurant went quite outside, I sat their feeling humiliated. We were given 2 menus, and we waited 10 mins. nobody served us. Then the table next to us asked for the bill. This rude waitress shouted pay inside, repeated 3x (shouting). Then said "how many times do I have to tell you, pay inside". The lady stood up embarrassed and went inside to pay. When she came back and sat down. The waitress then shouted at her again. "When you come here at lunchtime you must oder food" (it was 12pm). She shouted "This is not England" we don't just drink here we serve food" the family of 6 were not even English and were mortified. The whole restaurant went quiet, and the family left. I decided to take my son and leave as this lady was just so unpleasant, and her remark about England was totally unnecessary. So we never got to try the food and I would never recommend going to this restaurant, where a member of staff could make everyone feel so uncomfortable and a created a...
