You eat authentic food. You drink the house wine. You only need a few portions to actually find out where you are. I had meatballs in sauce with olives, with a side of very soft chickpeas. And then a fig dessert with melted dark chocolate and a sweet wine. The prices are friendly. The welcome is unobtrusive, genteel. The background music is sophisticated. Our host helped us interpret the Italian menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer, the Gnocci as our shared first course, second courses of swordfish (me) and meatballs (her), and a lovely light strawberry custard dish for dessert. The house wine was a perfect accompaniment (we bought an extra bottle to go!). The beautiful photography of out host decorated the quiet, peacefully dining room, while lovely dinner music played in the background. ("You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss....."). We went our first night, came back the second, and we wish we even came back for the third night! The nights we came we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. The best way I can describe the food and restaurant is like visiting someone’s home and having them cook for you - absolutely beautiful.
