La Frasca — Restaurant in Florence

So if you are staying in the city, make every effort to come and have dinner here. The place is delicious. Small and cozy. Special atmosphere. The menu is simple , the wine is sincere. You eat authentic food. You drink the house wine. You only need a few portions to actually find out where you are. I had meatballs in sauce with olives, with a side of very soft chickpeas. And then a fig dessert with melted dark chocolate and a sweet wine. The prices are friendly. The welcome is unobtrusive, genteel. The background music is sophisticated. The best way, in my opinion, to come up here is by train (Florence San Marco Vecchio stop, 5 minutes from Santa Maria Novella), and for the return (we are talking about the evening) find a bus nearby. We were served a mist wonderful meal. Our host helped us interpret the Italian menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer, the Gnocci as our shared first course, second courses of swordfish (me) and meatballs (her), and a lovely light strawberry custard dish for dessert. The house wine was a perfect accompaniment (we bought an extra bottle to go!). The beautiful photography of out host decorated the quiet, peacefully dining room, while lovely dinner music played in the background. ("You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss....."). We will always remember this wonderful meal....

Wow. Amazing food, exceptional (non-imposing) service, and ambiance. My husband and I stayed at a place very nearby and it was recommended to go here. We went our first night, came back the second, and we wish we even came back for the third night! The nights we came we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. The best way I can describe the food and restaurant is like visiting someone’s home and having them cook for you - absolutely beautiful. You can’t go wrong with coming to this place and definitely try the gelato for dessert! Grazie mille!!...
