We were staying nearby at Hotel Savoy and wanted to kill some of the dead time at the height of the day, when many people are not out as the sun is so harsh, so we stopped by the place next door, where we had wanted to sit with a glass of wine. It was full, and this places solitary bench was empty, so we figured we would kill a few minutes here until next door opened up.
My boyfriend went inside to order coffee, and whilst he was in there, a quasi-homeless man with a backpack, his own beer, and really trashy, smelly cigarettes came over, refused to speak any French or English (which is fine, but kept obviously forcefully requesting in Italian, trying to intimidate me as a 42 kg female in heels etc) that I move so that he could sit on the bench, even though he was not a paying patron.
I kept saying and motioning are you buying something in here (as he had his own beer)? He kept ignoring the inquiry and sat down, moving our things, sitting on top of me. Then he lit up his disgusting cigarette and blew smoke on me, all the while drinking his own beer, and not buying anything inside. When my boyfriend came outside, I said, tell them inside to tell this man to move off of us when he is not even a patron, moving our things and sitting on top of me, smelling horribly, and then lighting up a trashy cigarette, blowing it all over us, my limited edition £4800 Dior bag, my custom-made £800 dress, lanvin heels etc.
The entire reason we went here was because the bench was empty so we could sit and wait for the place next-door to open up (as we would never sit on top of people nonetheless blowing cigarette smoke on them).
The restaurant clearly knew him, so did not care that he was not paying for anything, drinking his own beer, harassing paying customers that were literally buying something only to kill a few minutes before...
Read moreI visited La Milkeria probably 7 years ago and it was one of the experiences that I remembered the most as I am not a pancake/crepe fan but this place surprised me with a mascarpone crepe that was delicious! Today, in Nov 2022, I come back with my family and they are all looking at me funny thinking this is a bad choice until they try the mascarpone crepe and fill in love with the place! The staff are very friendly, the food is delicious, the service is fast! We tried a bakery of their dishes, the avocado/cream cheese bagel was so good, the eggs and bacon was great and so were all the pancakes and crepes. I love to have their fresh orange juice at breakfast too! Everything is great about this place and we will...
Read moreNot a great option, and I'm confused why it has good reviews. The pancakes were overcooked, and not as fluffy as they could be. There was a good option of toppings, and the ones we had (custard and strawberry were nice). The chocolate milk was super disappointing because it was just nesquik. I like nesquik, but it should be advertised as Nesquik and the price should be reduced significantly. The staff were also quite inattentive. They would call out your drink/food order but just leave it at the bar. Several tables didn't hear their order being called, and there was no attempt to call again, so their drinks were just sitting there. It's a small place, so...
