Our stay at Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence was truly special. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet side street that opens directly onto Piazza della Repubblica – right in the heart of the city. All the major sights are within walking distance, yet once inside, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed.||From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff stood out. Thanks to the boutique size of the property, we always felt personally looked after. Service was attentive and friendly without ever being intrusive.||The palazzo itself is stunning and has been beautifully restored. Everywhere you look there are frescoes, marble, and fine materials that create a unique historic atmosphere, while still offering all modern comforts. The hotel’s motto, “Your Place in History,” really feels fitting – it does give the impression of stepping into another era.||We stayed in a Frescoed Junior Suite, which exceeded our expectations. The suite was spacious, the bathroom particularly large and elegant, and the ceiling fresco made the whole room feel extraordinary. The only minor downside was that we could sometimes hear music from the lower floors in the evening. With earplugs, though, it was not an issue for a restful night.||Housekeeping and turndown service were flawless and kept the suite immaculate. Breakfast, whether in Il Salotto or served in-room, was always a highlight. The Eggs Benedict and pancakes in particular were excellent and made every morning feel special.||The spa is compact but very well designed, which actually gives it an intimate atmosphere. The spa attendant was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Before using the facilities, we were asked to fill out a short form for insurance reasons, which was simple and quick. Being able to reserve the spa for private use was a real treat and made the experience even more enjoyable.||Dinner at the gourmet restaurant was another highlight. We chose the seven-course “Grand Tour di Mare” menu, which was beautifully balanced and perfectly portioned. The room itself is very generous in size with a high ceiling, which makes it feel grand, though it also means the noise level is somewhat higher than in a small, quiet fine-dining restaurant. The overall atmosphere, however, remained festive and memorable. Celebrating my birthday there was made even more special by the thoughtful touches: a cake during dinner and another one waiting in our suite afterwards. The second cake might have been even more appreciated earlier in the day, but it was nevertheless a very kind gesture.||All in all, Palazzo Portinari Salviati ranks among the finest hotels we have stayed at in recent years. It combines history, elegance, and modern luxury in a way that is truly rare. We left with the strong wish to return and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone...

Absolutely beyond magical! ✨ Staying at Palazzo Portinari Salviati Residence in Florence was nothing short of a dream come true. From the very first moment we arrived, we were swept into a world of elegance, beauty, and five-star perfection that felt straight out of a fairy tale. I genuinely felt like a princess living in a Renaissance palace!

The service was pristine — truly next-level. Every single staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable. It’s rare to feel both so pampered and so at home at the same time, but they managed it flawlessly.

The rooms? Immaculate. Gorgeously appointed with elegant touches and historic charm, yet seamlessly modern and luxurious. The attention to detail in the design made me want to stay forever — waking up there was like stepping into a painting.

As for the food — delicious, fresh, and surprisingly healthy! Each breakfast felt curated with love, with ingredients that tasted like they came straight from a Tuscan garden. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted even better than it looked.

This wasn’t just a hotel stay — it was an experience, one that enchanted me from start to finish. I honestly cannot recommend Palazzo Portinari Salviati Residence enough. If you’re heading to Florence and want to feel like royalty while being cared for with the utmost grace and sophistication, look no further. 10 stars if I...

My husband (white male) and I (black female) stopped by Palazzo Portinari Salviati to inquire about staying there in the future. While my husband was warmly welcomed and even invited to look around the hotel, I was explicitly told I was "not allowed" to view the property whereas my boyfriend was told that he could look around right after I was told I was not allowed. The staff member (male server that I encounter around 9 pm on Wednesday May 7th) made no effort to explain why I was singled out, despite us arriving together as a couple. This is a a double standard, if this hotel truly had a no tours policy it should apply to both of us.

This experience left me feeling humiliated and deeply uncomfortable. The blatant difference in treatment based on race is unacceptable, especially from a luxury hotel that claims to uphold high standards of hospitality. While at first me and my husband were excited upon entering this experience left us feeling like we would never come back nor recommend this place.

I hope management takes this seriously and provides staff training to prevent this from happening to other guests. Until then, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who values...

We stayed at Palazzo Portinari Salviati from July 18–19 in rooms 101 and 102 for a quick visit to Florence, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was stunning, the hotel is beautifully designed, with an elegant scent and a calming, luxurious ambience. The staff were exceptional, truly the best hospitality we’ve experienced. They were attentive, welcoming, and offered great recommendations around the city. The rooms were spotless, beautifully furnished, and every detail was thoughtfully considered. Despite our early checkout, everything went smoothly, thanks especially to Alessandro, who was incredibly kind and helpful right up until we left. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to Florence.

This hotel saved our lives! After a disastrous experience with an Airbnb in Florence, we booked this hotel day-of. They allowed us to check in early and helped with our luggage. The customer service is OUTSTANDING - some of the best customer service we’ve ever experienced. The concierge was immediately available for all our needs, from booking a wonderful outdoor dinner reservation day-of to serving us delicious desserts and drinks in the downstairs restaurant while listening to live piano. And the room itself was beautiful. From the marble shower to the gorgeous windows that open, we could not have been more pleased. I wish I could give 6 stars!! We will be back. Grazie mille!
