⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Absolutely Wonderful!

We had an unforgettable meal at Trattoria del Pennello in Florence. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and the kind of friendly, genuine atmosphere that makes you feel like family. The restaurant has a classic Florentine charm—cozy, inviting, and full of history.

The food was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of authentic flavor. The bistecca alla Fiorentina was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, and the fresh pasta was some of the best we’ve had in Italy. The house wine paired perfectly with the meal, and the tiramisu was the perfect finishing touch—light, creamy, and delicious.

What truly sets this place apart is the staff. They were attentive, passionate about the food, and eager to share recommendations. It felt like dining in a place where the love for tradition and good food is truly alive.

If you are visiting Florence and want a memorable, truly local dining experience, Trattoria del Pennello is a must. We will absolutely return on our next...

We randomly stumbled upon Trattoria del Pennello while walking through the streets of Florence, followed by our nose for a good dinner. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed.

The service was spectacular, Andre did a wonderful job presenting us our wine and food, even bringing us out our steak before it was cooked to see. My fiancé and I ordered the Tagliere di pecorini con miele d'acacia to start, which was a delicious pecorino cheese platter with acacia honey and walnuts, then split the Pappardelle al cinghiale which was a fantastic starter with perfectly cooked wild boar and a incredible sauce, and to finish we got the quintessential Bistecca alla Fiorentina, the Florentine T-Bone steak, dry aged and perfectly cooked and brought out on a searing platter to add extra char if you preferred. Genuinely, we have been in Florence for 2 days, Italy for 6, this is the best meal we’ve had.

Incredible service, great food and atmosphere, and wonderful limoncello to finish it all off. We will be coming back on...

We stumbled upon this trattoria tucked away from the tourist crowds, and it ended up being the most memorable meal we’ve had in Italy. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about giving each patron the best experience.

The wine selection was phenomenal, especially the Brunello, which in true velvet fashion paired perfectly with every dish. We started with the truffle tortelli, which were nothing short of divine—rich, delicate, and bursting with flavor. But the true standout was the Florentine steak. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and deeply flavorful, it was hands-down the best we’ve had in all of Italy.

This place is the real deal—authentic, soulful, and quietly extraordinary. A must-visit if you’re looking for a true taste of Florence without the crowds. We’ll be dreaming about this meal for a long time. When you come in, ask for Visar, he is friendly, fun, and gives great...

We found this place randomly while walking in the streets of Firenze. We really liked that it was in the center of the city but so quiet simultaneously. The food was very tasty but the portions were a bit small. They brought us parmezana to serve with our pasta but it was half empty. In the garden there are some big umbrellas ( I guess for the sun) but it makes the atmosphere unbearable in hot days. A bit wind is nowhere to be found to feel better. They should close them (the umbrellas) in the afternoon. Staff was friendly but we felt that there was a different treatment to those who spent more money than the rest. Someone will say that it's logical but I think it's not good for customers to feel like that. 4€ for cover charge and 3,5€ for a big bottle of water I think it's too much. But this is a personal opinion and is not affecting my rating. Overall I would say that it's not a VFM restaurant but you will definitely taste some good food here.
