Le Barrique — Restaurant in Florence

We went (2pax) to this restaurant as a recommendation of a friend. As soon as we sat, the manager (or someone that was in the entrance) gave us the menu and brought the water. After 20 minutes one of the waiters saw us and ask us the order that we immediately made, (this including the wine). Another 25 minutes passed and just when the starters arrived (by this time 45 minutes since we arrived) the wine also arrived. We finished eating and waited for another 20 minutes (1.05 hours since we arrived) nobody came, not even to take away the plates of our starter, so we just stood up and left, one of the waiters saying goodbye without even noticing if we received the orders or not. I saw the other tables close to ours also waiting and by the time we left no food was served to them either.

It’s a pity because I saw very good recommendations about the food in this place, unfortunately these types of experiences creates just a bad memory...

The place is great. The ambiance and cute little restaurant. The food is not that special. It was not bad. But not good either. We had lot better food for way less in florence. I am real foodie so i was sad this place did not live up to the expectation. We did not tip because the waiters were forgetful and busy(which can happen no big deal). However they had real stank attitude about it. Too bad. You can also take it as a learning moment. We were never rude and we were quite understanding that it was busy and end of the night. But i am not tipping for a non-service. I feel they live of the hype of the ambiance and they try to be too fancy. Rather make the food more simple but tasy, you will win every time. In the area you have great other restaurants. Maybe it was this specific night because i see sooo many great reviews or maybe im just used to better food? Who knows, I can say I had better in...

been here a couple of weeks ago for a dinner with friends and honestly speaking it hasn’t been a great experience, there weren’t many options that peaked my interest and the food i had ordered completely disappointed me… the meat was very cold, hard to chew and also had a burnt taste that was unpleasant, the onions tasted bitter, the inside filling was very good though but definitely not worth the price or to even go to the restaurant. the ambience is kind of nice at the beginning but the more you observe it the more it looks cluttered and not so pleasant to be in. the service was very good on the other hand, so props to the waiter that has been very patient with us! but unfortunately i will not be coming back as the food was pretty...
