Great little restaurant in a non-tourist area. About a dozen tables altogether, inside and out, with friendly staff and quick service.
Im here in Italy for 10 days, and have been all over; La Spezia, Pisa, Venice, Palermo, Pomeii and Naples. My one big 'wish' was to find the perfect Carbonara, and my wife sought the perfect Gnocci.
We found both at this restaurant. The Carbonara made me want to cry! All jokes aside I didn't want to eat the last bite because when I did it would be over... obviously I ate it. Then cried.
My wife loved her Gnocci, definetly home made, very tasty and filling. She said they were soft like pillows! Great portion sizes for both.
The menu had lots of other fan favorites, including Bruscetta, Risotto, and all the classics.
My only negative was the lack of AC, or enough of it anyway, to fight the heat, and playing American music on the radio. Don't get me wrong, I love 90s American hits, but not in this vibe.
I would come back to Italy just to eat here again. Don't laugh, I did it once before to again eat at a restaurant I loved in Hawaii. Sadly, I didn't get to Rome on this trip, I want to see the old city ruins. We will be back to Italy, and I will make a special trip back for this restaurant.
Thank you for...
Read moreAfter a long overnight trip from Montreal, Canada we were starving and looking for a place for lunch. One of the server, Still, overheard us and started speaking to us in french. We decided to go in and what a surprise. The food was amazing. The best pasta carbonara we ever had along with a pizza and linguini vongole. We were so impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the Chef and the server Still, that we decided to come back for supper where the Chef said he would prepared a special seafood linguini for us. It was simply amazing. After travelling for two weeks in the Chianti area, where we had some very good meals we could not wait to come back to Florence and have our last dinner at this simple but great restaurant with a very friendly ambiance. Read moreThe meal is so delicious! We ordered 3 dishes: Lasagna di carne, grilled vegetables, and ossobuco alla florentina. The marrow was so soft and the tomato sauce was an excellent combination. Also, the bread was so good! The olive oil was tasty, too!
Plus, the service was very nice. When the waiter heard I wanted to buy olive oil which was served in the restaurant , he guided me to next store, Enoteca Nazionale, and introduced more options to me, which was more suitable for me. Thanks for the professional and hospitality waiter!
In addition, the location of the restaurant is very convenient. Less than 10 minutes walk to Santa Maria Novella station or Fortezza Station. Must try the cuisine here when you...
