Le Sorgenti — Restaurant in Florence

Truly unfortunate experience. We chose this restaurant after all of the wonderful reviews, but had quite a different experience. I would like to start off by saying our group is very easy to please and, having been in the industry, really forgiving and patient. The food was great!! We genuinely loved each of our selections. I would have rated this around 4.5 on the food alone, however a restaurant can really ruin a good meal with terrible service. That is just what we had...TERRIBLE service. Our drink orders were not taken until quite some time after we sat down. Okay, no big deal. The food came out of the kitchen very very quickly and was hot and fresh. We did not see our waitress again. We ended up being cleared and sitting for approximately 20 minutes before finally flagging a young girl down, who was also serving and could not have been more than 14 years old, to get our pre-ordered coffee and to order dessert. The espresso was essentially sludge; it was obvious the machine is not cleaned regularly. After sitting for 30 minutes without any acknowledgement of our meal being finished, we asked for the check -- and sat...and sat....food was run, people were seated, and we witnessed our server acknowledging other tables requests (they were few and far between as the restaurant was not full and she was not the only server on). She was never to be seen back at our table again. We did the math and left our cash on the table to pay and walked out. This was the quickest response time to anything when the woman at the counter hopped outside asking about our bill. We pointed her to the table where we were sitting and will not be going back. Props to the kitchen for their wonderful work but do not go here if you are looking to have anything close to an acceptable level of hospitality and customer service. On our last evening in Florence we had dinner at this beautiful family run restaurant. And I can 100% recommend to eat at this place!!!!! Seriously it deserves 10 stars or more! I am a big fan of Chinese food and the menu and also the prices looked really good.

The inside of the restaurant is so beautifully decorated, clean and the owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. We felt comfortable right away and were totally excited to try the food.

The dishes we chose from the menu all came quite quick and most importantly sizzling hot (which is rare at least from what I have experienced in Florence.). Plus they were smelling so extremely delicious I couldn't wait to have bite;).

And what can I say, the dishes we had tasted amazing! All fresh ingredients, the vegetables still had a nice crunch to them and we're not cooked to death. The chicken was so well done as was the tofu and that says a lot cause tofu is very difficult to prepare.

I wish we had eaten at this excellent​ restaurant more often especially since the menu offers so much and there's so much to choose from for every taste.

As a southeast Asian Chinese holidaying in Italy, I will brutally rate this restaurant atmosphere and food. The hotplate beef, hot plate seafood, tofu and lemon chicken were on the spot. It tastes exactly like what I would expect back home. For soup, choose the hot and spicy soup, it tastes like those restruant from where I’m from. Didn’t manage to try the rest, but to be fair, you can’t really go wrong with Chinese food, especially soup.

The experience also boils down to the song and the atmosphere in the restruant. The song played in the restruant is also those that I would listen back home, which instantly makes any Chinese feel at home here.

I see many chinese eating here, me inclusive. I really hope more Italians discover this hidden gem, and as a Chinese myself, I approve this place to serve authentic...
