We stopped here by chance after collecting a map from the tourist information office opposite, It was serendipitus! The service, from the second we walked in was impeccable. They speak fantastic English, however, we tried to speak as much Italian as possible. For beginners we felt this was appreciated. We chose the Chianti, and local beer. Outstanding! €6.50 for a beautiful glass of wine, long finish and the epitome of a chianti. You cannot complain. For starters we shared the steak tartar. This was delicious and a nice take on the egg serving. Order it, you'll see. For the pasta, we chose the macaroni ragu and the carbonara with truffle. The carbonara was unbelievable. I'm being hyper critical here, they could have added the egg a little after the pasta cooled, as it was slightly scrambled, but please, I am being VERY critical. Dessert: Tiramisu and the Fondant with pistachio. Both excellent. Again my only hyper criticism, the fondant could have been 90 seconds less to get the center perfect. But I'm splitting hairs here. Honestly, for a stumble upon lunch spot, this place is exceptional. Please visit, they're newly opened and when service and food quality is this good, you have to support them. I will be back!!! Two covers, 3 courses, plus alcoholic drinks and coffees, €84. Unbelievable!

After spending three hours wandering the beautiful squares of Florence on a sunny day with my wife and our 2-year-old daughter, we were exhausted and hungry. The area around the Duomo cathedral was packed and most places were either too crowded or overpriced. While searching on Google for somewhere with good reviews, we stumbled upon what looked like a regular restaurant just two minutes’ walk from the Duomo, with inviting outdoor seating. We decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad we did! We were welcomed by Edi (thankfully he spoke perfect English — my broken Italian would have failed me in that moment of heat and hunger). Both my wife and I are huge pasta lovers, so we took a chance and ordered two portions of Carbonara. We were slightly nervous after a disappointing Carbonara experience the day before, but this time we struck gold — it was honestly the best Carbonara we’ve ever had! We also shared a truffle bruschetta, which was delicious, and the Aperol Spritz hit the spot perfectly on such a hot day. The service was impeccable, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the prices were fair for the location. If you’re near the Duomo and looking for great food, a refreshing drink, and a place that feels welcoming and unpretentious, look no further. Highly recommended!

Stayed 3 days in Florence and on our first day stumbled across this absolute gem, and actually our favourite in all of the several places we visited. Firstly the staff are excellent and extremely welcoming. We were very well tended to the whole time. The food, genuinely - best I’ve had in a number of years. The antipasti was the best I’ve had, you could just taste the quality of the salami and cheese. The Florentine steak, we had a few, was not only the best value but the taste was incredible. The mean was perfectly cooked and genuinely melt in your mouth. The potatoes are a must. Aperol and coffee - spot on. Didn’t have a bad word to say. The kitchen itself tells you all you need to know about this place, it was spotless and they had absolute pride in their work. I would urge anyone to come out of the centre and visit here.

We ate here with our 7 teenagers and young adults on vacation. I got my entree 3 hours in, after everyone was long finished. My son got his steak then, too. We also ordered the crouton (1 order), and the server said she would bring 3 orders. A whole host of toast piled up with pate’ showed up. No one ate it, and there was no description on the menu. My son thought he was ordering crisp bread. While I was waiting over an hour for my pasta, I ordered a glass of wine, and the staff said they couldn’t open a bottle for a glass (about 45 minutes after I ordered it)- they finally brought that when we were about to leave. It was very expensive for 9 people, and a very frustrating night of waiting for food and drinks. The restaurant didn’t seem that busy, and we got a reservation on short notice. My pasta was good when it came, and the wait staff was cordial, though we don’t speak Italian and they didn’t speak much English. The restaurant was...
