Cute bakery and artisanal shop, very delicious baked goods although a little pricy.
My only complaint is how rude and unpleasant the staff are, it’s like they don’t want to be there and don’t want your money. It gives the feeling of you’re doing them a service by being a customer. It’s just overall so uncomfortable.
I’ve been to this bakery at least 6x since August, because the bakery items are so good. And I’ve gone back and forth with myself about whether or not I’m being sensitive because I’m used to American customer service. But there’s a difference between being neutral (not doing the fake excessive American customer service) and being rude. Staff at this bakery are rude. I’ve talked to my local Florentine friends who frequent this bakery about this issue and they’ve had the same experience but because they’ve been customers for such a long time they said they don’t get as much negative treatment anymore, still negative but not terrible.
On multiple occasions they forget to get your order, or take their time by chatting amongst themselves AND THEN acknowledge you, so you’re just left standing their for 5+ minutes when the entire transaction could’ve taken 2 minutes.
I’m not asking anyone to be overly polite or even pleasant. Just be neutral. They have an attitude throughout the entire process, again as if the customer is a burden. And for this reason I don’t recommend this bakery to anyone visiting Florence.
I will say I’ve seen them be pleasant to elderly folks. They only serve American coffee, which is odd...
Read moreWe visited this place during our stay to Florence and we immediately fell in love with it! It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that this is the best bakery I have ever visited.
It has a very beautiful, rustic interior and a big variety of products, from bread to sweets and salty treats, all made with quality ingredients and a lot of love. Don't miss the "budini di ricotta" and "budini di riso", as well as their delicious apple tart! As a cherry on top, it also has local packaged products like pasta, sauces, spreads and truffle-related stuff. The staff was very kind and helpful as well!
I could carry on writing about this place, but this would end up being an article. If I could pick one bakery that I would visit for the rest of my life, I would...
Read moreHmm mixed feeling about this place. We thought the interior was beautiful, a very authentic rustic looking place with a good old smell of bread that really open your taste bud. But then we ordered this slice of cake which had blueberries on the bottom and a lavender icing. First the cake was dry. Not dry form having sat there for a week but just the actual recipe not being right. The lavender icing that topped it was so strong that it fell like I was eating toilet spray. They have American coffee which was good and the girls working seem nice. That’s a shame about the cake, it makes me not wanting to...
