This is a hidden gem. A small restaurant with 10 or so tables, this is somewhere to ensure you visit when in Lecce. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu - which was the best way to taste all the chef has to offer without overdoing it with too much food! (I would say the 8/10 course would be too much but if you haven’t eaten all day then it might be the most delicious feast you ever take on!!) We went for the ceviche with asparagus and peanut, foie gras with broad bean, amaretti and pecorino (noteworthy!!), rabbit pasta, risotto with yellow tomato and sea bream (my favourite, could have had a whole bowl of this buttery, comforting and decadent risotto), slow cooked octopus with sweet potato and chilli and we rounded it off with the chocolate mousse (think rich, thick and dark - I’d like them to sell this by the pot!) and tiramisu. All were delicious in their own right but together it was one of the best meals we have had in Salento. If you’re looking for somewhere where the small team ensures you have a great time, you taste incredible food in an unpretentious and pretty setting, and all for an insanely affordable price then I cannot recommend this place more and before it’s discovered...

A top class service, in a friendly cosy non-pretentious ,customer centred environment with an ethical approach to business and his staff. This chef wouldn't have any problems obtaining Michelin star status if he wanted. Maurizio came to Lecce to set up his dream only after learning the tricks of the trade in top hotels and restaurants, run by some of world’s finest chefs in India, Malaysia, London, South Africa and Edinburgh.
The secret ingredient is a dedicated team of 3 serving just 1 sitting of 7 tables a night, the highest level of service and non sense of feeling rushed to free-up your table. However, you do need to book well in advance. Don't think that you can just drop-in here and get a table.
Amazing value for money, a really decent appropriate selection of wines to pair with the tasting menu, which is a must for first time visitors.

Read moreThis was an incredible experience. You can order a la carte or create a tasting menu or 4, 6, 8 or 10 courses.. the best thing is you can choose the menu yourself ! I opted for the 6. Each dish well so well thought out, modern techniques mixed with familiar flavors, e.g. the 'vitello tonato' which was veal tartare with raw tuna on top and tuna sauce. The calamari risotto was faultless, perfectly al dente and flavour incredible. The octopus was perfectly cooked - I eat a lot of octopus and I believe this was the best. Likewise the quail stuffed with sausage was perfectly executed, and so rich and yummy. I can't believe what good value this was - 6 courses including a glass of prosecco and limcello was only 55 euros. Service was fantastic, the waiter friendly and took the time to explain each dish to me, the chef came out to give me kisses, it was such a wonderful experience. I eat out a lot, have a big appetite and this meal was probably one of the better value meals I've ever had, as well as being...
