Just desi indian food — Restaurant in Lecce

We visited this restaurant recently. The ambience was decent, but the service could be improved. The food took a while to arrive after placing our order. We had to specifically ask for papad, which is usually served by default at most Indian restaurants.

We ordered lamb biryani, chicken tikka, and dal. The lamb biryani was underwhelming—the rice wasn’t fully cooked, and the flavor was just okay. The chicken tikka, however, was very tasty and well-prepared. The dal was decent, nothing exceptional.

For dessert, we tried kaju katli and barfi, which were quite good. However, the pricing felt on the higher side, and to top it off, the cashier made billing mistakes three times, each time adding extra charges.

We went for lunch, it was the first Indian we have had since moving to Italy eighteen years ago. The flavours and textures brought back many enjoyable memories of food eaten in England at local Indian restaurants. I can not fault the food, the chapatis were some of the best I have eaten. I was disappointed in the crockery and cutlery, paper plates and wooden cutlery (bamboo). All things being said we enjoyed the meal and will drop by again to eat. The masala chai (tea) to finish the meal was so good. As a foot note, be aware the starters and side dishes are large, like an extra main course. We over ordered. Really amazing place and mouthwatering food! I am so glad we came across this Indian restaurant during our stay in Lecce. We were in Lecce for 3 days and went to this place for dinner every single night! I am living in Europe for more than 7years now and I have tried many Indian restaurants across different european countries I have been to. I have never come across Indian food outside India, as good as Just Desi’s. The food quality and taste both are absolutely mind blowing. I would recommend everyone visiting Lecce to definitely try out their food.
