I cannot comment on the quality of the food as we decided to eat at a different spot because of the policy of the restaurant.
We sat down, we got the menu, agreed on what to get (Picante pizza with extra stracciatella, wine and another soft drink). After the waiter came, we told him what we want and he told us that we can’t just order one main course. After a closer look, we were able to find this information in the menu (but it is not something you’re usually looking for).
I respect their policy, even though I am not a fan. (One pizza for two of us is usually just fine, we prefer to eat more often, smaller portions.)
So we decided to choose another place. I am writing this so anyone considering going to Austin is aware of this. Again, I respect their policy, but I just don’t like to be pushed to order more food than I actually can eat and then leave it so it’s thrown out.
Prices seem normal for the location. (coperto was 3€ instead of the usual 2.5€, but that’s is not...
Read moreBased in our experience there, unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. I will try to briefly describe it: We entered there because the place is interesting and the ambient music was comfortable (some classic rock on low volume), after 10 minutes they drastically changed to some reggaeton on high volume. We ordered two pizzas, one was burnt on the bottom and the other they forgot to put the toppings! Instead of bringing another pizza with the toppings, they brought it in a plate for me to assemble the pizza. We finish eating, we asked for the bill, the bill came with the wrong value (they forgot to add one beer). I paid the bill and the change was wrong. If you insist to go to this restaurant, be careful with everything: if your order is correct, if the bill is correct, if the change is correct... Two good things that I can tell about this restaurant: the people who work there were very nice with us and the ambient and...
Read moreAt first, we were skeptical about trying Austin because the name sounded a bit too American for a restaurant in Matera. However, it came highly recommended by our Airbnb host, and we’re glad we gave it a chance. It was so good that we ended up returning for a second visit!
Everything we tried from the secondi section was fantastic, but if we had to choose a favorite, the pork ribs were exceptional—tender and bursting with flavor.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. One gentleman, who seemed to be either the owner or manager, stood out. We had ordered takeout for lunch, and later that evening, as we walked past the restaurant, we bumped into him. He warmly asked how we enjoyed our meal, and we were pleasantly surprised that he remembered us.
For excellent food and warm hospitality, we highly recommend...
