One of the Best Meals of the Holiday We had an absolutely outstanding lunch here—truly one of the best meals of our entire holiday! The quality, flavor, and fair prices make this place a must-visit. We would definitely come again. The Pasta Standout I ordered the Pasta with Sausage Ragù, and it was absolutely delicious. The dish featured a generous portion of meat and the flavor was perfectly balanced, hitting notes of salt, savory richness, and a great little creaminess. Crucially, the pasta was perfectly cooked (something many places struggle with, often leaving it too hard). This pasta dish alone is a winner! The Signature Meat Dish The dish that truly stood out was the meat dish (the second photo, possibly a secondo or a specialty primo). It was served with a pumpkin sauce and a hint of truffle. This dish was a masterpiece! It should be a permanent menu item, not just a daily special—it has all the makings of a signature dish. The food is excellent here. Visited on October 13 and sat upstairs. The kitchen knows what they’re doing. Fresh food and super local. Great wine too.

The younger waiter who seated us was great. Unfortunately, the other waiter was rude to everyone upstairs. When I told him I wasn’t ready to order yet he abruptly stopped me and said “oh so you know the kitchen and don’t want my recommendations?!” We both felt very uncomfortable. He also argued with the young woman eating alone next to us claiming that she ordered something that she clearly hadn’t. He made fun of another guy openly for ordering the Bruschetta because “you can get that any where in America”. I love a good joke with a waiter, but this was not that. Having spent more than 2 months in total in Italy, I love the service normally in the country. This guy was abrasive to say the least.

I could go on with what he said to other patrons but no need. You get the point. Fire this one under-qualified and overzealous waiter and this place easily gets 5 stars. I wish I read more reviews before we...

On our Italy trip we visited Rome, Naples, the Amalfi coast, Matera, Ostuni, and Alberabello so far. This place was either the second best if not best place we had dinner. The service is fun and friendly and very welcoming. Higher end service without being over the top about it. The price is extremely good value. The meals are much bigger than you would expect for what are low prices compared to what we have been having to pay elsewhere. Most importantly, the food is excellent and local. It was great to eat some regional Italian food relevant to Matera when it has been hard to find any kind of variety of cuisine or vegetables elsewhere.

We ordered way too much food because we were used to other places charging more for less, and had to force our way through it all! Would recommend trying the cheese board.
