Madame Giulia boasts a fantastic location just steps away from the Sant’Agostino Monastery, with an outdoor terrace offering a breathtaking panoramic view of eastern Matera. We were seated outside and had the pleasure of watching the city transform as the sun went down—the colors shifting beautifully as evening fell.

The food was excellent: refined, flavorful, and generously portioned. While the prices are a bit higher than average for Matera, the quality certainly lives up to it. The pork shoulder was particularly memorable—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked and rich in taste.

The portions were surprisingly large, which added great value to the overall experience.

Our only hiccup was a delay with the antipasto, but the issue was quickly noticed by the head waiter, who addressed it professionally with the staff. From then on, service was flawless—attentive, polished, and friendly.

The wine list was excellent, with a well-curated selection, though prices were on the higher side compared to other places in Matera.

Amazing place, really beautiful restaurant, the staff was really attentive and kind. We didn’t make a reservation and they still found us a table.

The food was delicious, the smoked Angus carpaccio was to die for, so light and the fruit salad complemented nicely the beefy meat. Loved the free bread with an amazing olive oil served to the side. The waiter even asked whether we are splitting the dishes and the chef made two portions in different plates for us which was sooo cute
