I visited both Égalité locations in Milan after seeing them recommended in several guides for brunch or coffee, but sadly, I wouldn’t go back a third time.
At the Brera location, I ordered a cappuccino that came with no foam at all, and the crème brûlée was a real letdown—it didn’t have the signature caramelized crust and was watery on top. At the Corso Sempione café, the fruit tartlette was almost inedible—the crust was so hard I could barely cut into it.
The only redeeming quality is the nice atmosphere, but unfortunately, that’s overshadowed by the rude and unpleasant staff in both places. I genuinely felt like we were being rushed out.
Despite the hype, Égalité didn’t live up to expectations....

Read moreHad a mid day break at Egalite with their tropeziennes. This is a Italian style brioche bun filled with chantilly cream. The correct way to eat a tropezienne is to cut from the top to bottom, and combine the top & bottom of the bun with the cream - do not separate them! The top of the bun provides flakiness with its crispy surface - almost too dry if eaten alone. The flakiness is well balanced with the cream - dense and with a slight note of citrus. Overall a clean and comfortable shop with decent choices...
