Our experience and happiness starts and ends with our Waitress Ulyana!!
From the beginning she walked us thru the menu and approach in ordering which meant we started with ordering wine and then paring it properly with our food.
We told Ulyana what we were thinking of ordering and so we ordered a White Wine from this region and she made sure to explain the wines to us. Thankfully her English is very good and the selection was spot on, so good tha my wife had a second glass.
Ulyana guided us to the menu and we ordered:
Bread and Olive Oil: the owner makes his own Olive Oil and Ulyana suggested we try the Olive Oil with a hint of Lemon. Admittedly not a choice we would have made but because she spoke so highly of it we tried it. Surprisingly delicious.
Appetizer: Crispy Shrimp. 4 beautifully and lightly battered and fried shrimp. So good and the cream of asparagus was quite tasty!
Pasta: we ordered both the Carbonara and Truffle Taglioni and had extra Truffle shavings. Both were very good and if you order add extra truffle shavings. Worth the extra as the flavor is out of this world.
Main Course: we shared the Tuna Tataki which was coated with black sesame seeds. The tuna was fresh and very tasty.
Very good food, we capped the evening with a small cheesecake and a limoncello - obviously cannot end dinner without limoncello.
What impressed us the most is how hard Ulyana worked. She had 3 or 4 tables of 2 or 4 guests but then one large table of 18-20. She was efficient, timely and always working...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere and great food overall—but be prepared to exercise some patience when it comes to service. Depending on where you’re seated, your experience could be either seamless or quite slow. In our case, dinner (starter, main, and dessert) took about 2.5 hours, which felt longer than necessary. That said, the staff are all genuinely warm and friendly, which helps soften the wait.
As for the food, it’l was good—though it really depends on what you order. We tried the steak tartare and the risotto to start. Unfortunately, the tartare was underwhelming: it lacked seasoning, depth of flavor, and presentation. A side accompaniment would have elevated it. On the other hand, the risotto was flawless—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
For mains, we had the tuna tataki and the truffle pasta. The tuna was nicely done, fresh and well-prepared. The truffle pasta, while tasty, was missing the key ingredient: the truffle! It was still enjoyable but felt incomplete without that signature aroma and flavor.
Dessert was a letdown. The tiramisu had a brownie twist that felt unnecessary—sometimes classic is best. Something more authentic and indulgent, like a pistachio fondant, would have been a welcome addition.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience—and the wine selection was truly good. With a few tweaks to consistency and attention to detail, this place could...
Read moreThis was the first meal in Italy that blew us away. Our server, Guiliano, was amazing. He was making us laugh, giving us ideas of places to visit and see and was honestly fantastic at his job. We ordered a variety of dishes along with red wine that he chose to pair with our food. We started off with complimentary bread and their homemade olive oil. Absolutely stunning. Next we had the octopus salad which was TO DIE FOR. Guiliano came by our table and brought their CITRUS olive oil which we lightly drizzled on top and that elevated the dish even more. One of my favourite octopus dishes the whole two weeks we explored around Italy. We had the 'Duet'. That was our first burrata experience and it was other worldly. We had the crispy prawns with Jerusalem artichoke cream (no idea where my photo is for it) but I think that's because we absolutely inhaled the dish. I must've forgotten to snap one! For our mains we had the risotto with the raspberry sauce. It was a bit different than I anticipated but it wasn't overly sweet - cooked very nicely. My husband ordered the sliced beef steak with hasselback potatoes. It was so tasty. We were honestly so full when we left but it was an amazing dining experience. One I will never forget! Be sure to book a reservation. We were the first of the night but by the time we left hours later it was full! Don't skip out...
