The extra bad: they overcharged me on menu items. They tried charging 22 euro for beef tartare when menu says it’s 19. I had to send the receipt back. Yikes!!! Check the menu prices and memorize them, or keep menu to check at the end… or do what I did and use their gigantic menu out front to point out the price discrepancy. This should not happen. It sucks that it did.

The bad: pizza was terrible. It looks good on photo, but it was baaaaad. Dough undercooked and it was immensely greasy, so the entire toppings just slide right off the chewy undercooked dough

The good: they replaced the pizza with lasagna. It was okay lasagna.

The great: the beef tartare is something I would come back for, and the only thing I can recommend based on what I ate

The pricing: expensive, it’s 5 euro for a coke, but it’s also the central of Milan and to be expected

The service: very slow. A man who came in 15 minutes after me was served his food first and left 45 minutes before I could. I was ignored, I think, far before the pizza event. The staff was friendly to me, but not very attentive

The atmosphere: good! People watching, sat on the terrace

Reservation? I walked right in at 2pm and was seated right away. During my 2.5 hours here (I know!) there were frequently empty...

Avoid at all cost! Would not want to support these types of establishment.

Important to state that I'm Canadian Chinese here, and like I see in some past reviews, they are "selective" with their customers.

One of the staff/owner, (from the pics, seems like it is Sergio), trying to entice customers in. Restaurant was half full? We walk up to him saying we are 2, and right away looked at us and said no space. At first I thought I understood wrong, or he didn't understand. So I used my fingers, and gestured 2. He shook his hand and basically said no. I was like, what about all those tables? He said, All reserved. So I stepped aside, walked away a few steps away. He then continued to try to get customers in. during those 5 minutes I stared, I clearly saw 2 couples walk up, and said they were 2. Right away guided them to their table. I was fuming at that point, and went back up to him. I said, so no space or no space for us? He just did a kind of smirk, and turned away.

Never felt so discriminated. No matter how good the food could have been, this type of practice ruins it all.

Would give 0 star if that...

The food and the atmosphere were great. However, what really stood out was the service from every single waiter (Hansana Fernando in particular).

They literally go the extra mile for you, explaining every dish, helping you with planning your trip in Milan and recognizing you even after 3 days, because of the bond they build up with you.

The food itself was great quality, overdelivering in both quantity and quality (as compared to the city centre based on both pizza’s and gnocchi).

Finally, the atmosphere of B29 is very different from many of the restaurants we went to. We were greeted, seated, provided for and served within a matter of minutes. Knowing that we were on vacation they took time to explore our schedule despite being busy with serving others on days that were 37 degrees Celsius.

If anything, this is definitely the best restaurant both me and my girlfriend have gone to. We will remember this restaurant for sure, and more importantly the waiters.

In particular Hansana who served us, had the patience to talk with us and then also even made himself available for any inquiries about our vacation, even in his...

So lets start with the service: Server had an attitude immediately once we sat. He gave us a menu and asked us if we wanted the menu in italian, and when we said english he said he only had it in Italian even though the menu had both languages (not sure if it was a joke, or just being sassy, regardless this was not appreciated). Then when we ordered the prosciutto and funghi pizza the restaurant gave us cooked ham rather than cured ham. With a condensending tone, he told us that in the menu it specified prosciutto cotto (cooked) Even though we checked and IT WAS NOT TRUE. After some discussion, they were able to change it. Overall, not friendly staff. As they would say in my country: que te quieren ver la cara de cojuda.

We ate here on a Friday night and were so impressed we returned for Sunday night. Food is delicious and well priced. Service is prompt and friendly. I had the clam pasta with anchovy sauce first night and meatballs with tomato and mash. Both dishes excellent. Mixed salad comes with shaved carrot and corn, very fresh and I love the Italian style where you are provided olive oil, balsamic, salt and pepper to dress to your own tastes. Good selection of yummy desserts, large cocktail list. Had espresso martini no sugar syrup (nice strong espresso flavour), negroni and wife enjoyed s*x on the beach. Highly recommended very enjoyable dining experience. Thx Sergio and the team.
