TLDR; bold authentic flavor with elegant peranakan aesthetic, but service can be improved

we ordered various main dishes and the flavor just hit right. the laksa was exceptional, bold flavor that i couldnt believe that i’d found in milan because usually asian dishes here are toned down to cater local flavors. buttermilk chicken was creamy and savory, and the hainan chicken rise and the nasi lemak were great too. as an indonesian, i appreciate the authentic flavor. portion was quite small though so if you come hungry, you might need to order more.

place was decorated with peranakan style that matches the food, the branding was also on point. it’s a cute aesthetically pleasing place in general.

but as i said, service needs to be improved. i gave the benefit of doubt since this place is new. i booked the place by phone, and they got my reservation wrong. service was slow and they waiters seem were not trained well. we ordered main dishes and they didnt come at the same time to the point that my friends who ordered the chicken rice had to wait ~20m for their dish. when we paid the bill, they weren’t accustomed to splitting bill (which is a common practice in milan) and we had to wait quite long to...

I lived in Singapore for two years and I have to say this is the worst Singaporean/Nanyang/Malaysian/Peranakan food (whatever you call) I have had. The restaurant is newly decorated which means smelly. Hainanese chicken rice tasted as overnight, also we did not ask for roasted which is fully dry. Laksa is as normal as what I had at KL airport, but eight times more expensive. The service is extremely slooooow. All dishes were not served together and we spent more time in waiting than eating.

Nah, I did not mean to comment till my friend heard the feedback. Tho the waitress was friendly and good, but from the reply, I feel they think we are just not comfortable with the local food but not their problem. Hope they can improve and survive in the competitive restaurant...

Living in Milan for almost 6 months now, I’ve been deprived off the Singaporean taste. First off, the interior decoration is so exquisite! Really love the Peranakan style! We were also served by 2 young waiters who were very keen on introducing the taste of the menu!

Most importantly, the food really taste amazing! Compliments to the chef for sticking to the authentic taste of Laksa, Beef Rendang and Hainanese Chicken Rice. Also had both desserts, and chuckled to my friends trying the taste of durian for the first time! The kueh and agar-agar are also the right amount of sweet! I had an incredible experience!

For a high-class dining experience, the price is not too steep though you will need to be prepared to pay more than 20...
