CREDA - Gastronomia popolare — Restaurant in Milan

I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Creda and it felt like being transported to a colorful seaside village in Southern Italy. The place is beautifully decorated, full of vibrant colors and charming details as fresh lemons on the tables.

The food was outstanding. As vegetarian I tried a mix of different dishes such as “Fiore di zucca ripieno, Zucchine ripiene and Pasta patate provola mantecata al basilico” but my friend also tried some of the meat/fish options: “Tartare di fassona piemontese, Zito con ragù di polpo, Polpette al ragù di nonna Maria” and everything was absolutely delicious!

Each dish was a perfect mix of tradition and creativity, full of flavor and made with great care and the wine matched the food beautifully.

I’m not sure a review will do this place enough credit. Part of me doesn’t want to review it in case the secret is revealed, but on the other hand it’s important people know how good this place is. So good in fact, that we came here twice for lunch in two successive days, and it was mostly down to one of their dishes which I will have dreams about, the parmigiana. There is a wide variety of options at the restaurant all celebrating the roots of Milanese cooking and culture, with nonna’s twist. Easily my favorite meal of our time in Milan. Everything was so good it brought a smile to my face.

The meatballs can’t be missed, and we also shared a breaded zucchini dish, a spaghetti, and zito with ragú. They also have the best bread and even offered us refills (though we abstained to save room for dessert).

This is definitely the type of place where you should ask the staff for recommendations and wine pairings. Everyone was so friendly and we were easily able to communicate with some English and my partner’s basic-level Italian. They were also able to fit us in last minute on the same day.
