da Gaspare — Restaurant in Milan

I chose this restaurant as it supposedly was good for seafood lovers. However I didn't enjoy the food as much as I anticipated. The service was super slow and the food was mediocre. For starter I ordered a "special" pasta as a local gentleman next to me who was a customer here had ordered one. The version I received was a "simplified" version of his plate. It looked more creamy compared to what I received. It tasted good though. After another long 20 minutes I finally got my mixed grill plate and again the quality was mediocre at best. For a grilled dish you expect it to be served hot, but you could tell the plate was standing on the counter easily for 10 minutes or more. The shrimps were cold and chewy without any garlic or taste. Don’t go - we got ripped off by these stronzis.

We flew into town and only wanted beer, light appetizers and a bottle of wine.

We made that clear when we got there. The shyster kept trying to up-sell us and it made us suspicious. Then they brought out more than we order of the expensive dishes and less of the cheaper on.

Portions were a joke and the calamari was not good.

The bill for 3 beers, 1 order of calamari and 2 orders of fries = €62!!!! And only the beer was decent.

Forget this place...

It was nice experience. The food was absolutely amazing and they a threat menu of Sea food menu as well as various types of pasta, great choice of wine. Just a little bit lack of the service and attention for new guests like myself. As I have catch that they put all the attention to the permanent guests but not for new comers. They have really nice outside terrace and great atmosphere inside. I will definitely recommend the place but be ready to be served after...
