Online Reservation was without any problem. Arriving at Hostaria Borromei we experienced a warm welcome and were guided to a nice table. We ordered Antipasti, prima and secondi piatti, a good wine was recommend by the waiter. The starters had been served after a short time and were very good. Unfortuantely the next course had been called off too early, hence the Pasta was served before we finished the starter. The waiter apologised directly and we showed understanding. From that Point on our good experience changed totally. The former waiter did not Show up any more, all other waiters ingnored us. After Clearing away the second course we waited for more than one hour to the main course. The ossobuco was ok but risotto was not cooked right. Located not far from the Duomo, this is a typical neighborhood hostaria with good Italian food. It is mainly a fish restaurant and everything they offer is delicious. Their pasta varieties with seafood , such as pasta with lobsters or clams , are also very good. But a simple pasta with tomatoes and basil or pasta with eggplants are as delicious. They offer a basket full of different types of bread freshly out from the oven and you can simply eat only bread and be completely happy. As for the fish, you can see them displayed at the entrance and make your choice, be it sea beam or seabass or whatever is fresh that day. I've celebrate here my birthday with family and friends and we had fantastic time! It was a memorable meal, well presented and accompanied by many bottles of very good Italian wine! Excellent food. Garden. We were 9 and shared many dishes. I enjoyed most the the t-bone steak, ossobuco, tagliata di manzo, fried frutti del mare -delicious and fresh salmon in marinate-pics.
