Primark – Milan, Italy: Blatant Exploitation and a Total Disregard for Basic Commercial Courtesy
What I experienced at Primark Milan is utterly unjustifiable. This was not just an unpleasant shopping trip—it was a blatant display of rudeness, poor treatment, and a complete lack of professionalism or respect for customers.
From the moment you request the Tax-Free form, which is a legal right for tourists, you’re met with cold indifference and intentional delays, as if they want to wear you down until you give up and walk away.
On top of that, they impose a minimum spending requirement to even qualify for this service, making it clear that the aim is not customer care but pure exploitation.
Even worse, you're forced to purchase the store’s shopping bags to carry your items, but if you buy a backpack from the same store, you're not allowed to use it inside! You're expected to carry your purchases in your hands and only place them in the bag after exiting. This isn’t just unprofessional—it shows a complete lack of commercial ethics and civilized conduct.
To make matters worse, security stops you at the exit to inspect your purchases and check your receipt, with no justification beyond the fact that you’re a tourist. All of these behaviors clearly point to discriminatory attitudes, or at the very least, an intentional mistreatment of foreign customers. And sadly, this is not an isolated case—I've observed similar attitudes in several Italian stores, not just Primark.
We’re not asking for special treatment—we’re asking for basic respect. To be treated this way as a visitor is unacceptable and disgraceful, especially in a country that prides...
Read moreI'm very loyal to the brand and usually whenever I travel, it's my favourite destination. Last week in Milan I had very negative experience with the security. I bought items worth 400 euros and while I'm leaving the store with my vealed wife. The security stopped me asking for the receipt! While no alram from the gate machine. I told him I have no issue to show you the receipt but what is the criteria for the random check? His reply was that we usually check customers with big shopping bags! I showed him the receipt and I asked him to talk to the store manager. He said OK wait here beside me which I never accepted and told him no we will be out of the store and when he is ready to talk I will be in again. The store manager came and he was not able to talk in English and he asked one of the security to translate. It was the worst experience ever as he was not able to clarify anything. His reply was its primark rules and he said he can't do anything and you can submit complaints using the website. For me it will be the last time to visit the primark and will officially send an email to the CEO as I consider the case as discrimination. He also refused to give me his name or the security guard name for his privacy. Shame primark,he let me leave angy, left very bad impression and was not wiling to even apologise for the...
Read moreI loved this place to shop. You can find many things and at very good prices.
They have clothes, sports, things for your house and decoration, shoes. Different lines for women, men, kids, house, shoes.
All stuffs were made of very good quality. I didn't buy clothes, well I did buy a souvenir sweatshirt and also souvenir things and shoes.
I think it is excellent quality vs prices that are really very very low.
They have a lot of Disney licensed stuff, so your eyes go to everything and you want everything. Obviously I bought a lot of things.
They have a good service Beacuse have a lot of shopping desk, and one day I bought a blanket and the next I need a change, they change it without problem.
The only point that I give them very bad is their super low quality paper bags. They break at first. and it really is pure garbage that is useless. All the streets of the center of Milano are full of their bags because they are useless. Really do something because this bags produce a lot of pollution and it's money in the trash and for us...
