Updated reply in response to the owner's message: Thank you for your reply. I wrote my review immediately after the incident and posted it on multiple platforms to ensure others are aware of our experience.
Our intention in leaving a review was not to create a "version against yours" situation but to share our experience. We were disappointed with how the situation was handled, particularly the lack of empathy and assistance when the gelato slipped from my son's hand.
Your response confirms our experience of being dismissed and made to feel ashamed. We hope future customers have a better experience and that you can handle similar situations with more understanding and kindness.
We were very excited about this place, but after placing my order the owner tried to reach over the counter and hand my 6 year old his gelato but somehow it slipped and fell down on the floor. As a parent my first thought was it is my son’s fault and scold him why he wasn’t more careful. The owner couple stood there and talked in Italian to the other couple in the store laughing, not saying anything to us then they took the order for my husband and after we cleaned up and were ready to pay , the wife said how about your son? They did not offer to get him a new one but made us feel ashamed. They also made us feel guilty for taking an extra spoon in an attempt to share the remaining gelato we ended up with after paying for the one we dropped. As we left the store my son cried, he said it slipped out of his hand as the gentleman had not ensured he was holding it. At this point, I realized it not only my son’s fault but the owner had not been careful to give it to him too. The whole experience is awful. I hope they can treat...

One delightful touch that caught my attention was the whipped cream topping. While it might be unconventional for some, I found it to be a stroke of genius. The whipped cream at Gelateria Paganelli is freshly made, incredibly light, and adds an extra layer of indulgence to the already heavenly gelato. It's a small detail that demonstrates their dedication to providing a truly exceptional experience.
In addition to the gastronomic delights, Gelateria Paganelli also offers the convenience of accepting card payments. This modern touch ensures a seamless and hassle-free transaction, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the joy of savoring their exquisite gelato.

Read moreUPDATE for its reply: It doesn't matter how many foreign customers you have served if you cannot treat all your customers EQUALLY with RESPECT!
If you're a foreigners/non-Caucasians, AVOID THIS PLACE! I would never expect my first RACIST experience in Europe happened in this small ice cream shop.
The staff(probably the owner) was being really nice and friendly to three local customers in front of me. But when it comes to my turn, he turned into poker face and silent mode and only thing he said to me is "Grazie".
That's fine, but when I exit the store I accidentally dropped my plastic spoon on the ground, so I went back to ask for another plastic spoon. The staff suddenly turned aggressive and said "I gave you one WHERE IS IT?" I told him I accidentally drop it on the road and that's when he gave me a mocking laugh with clear and obvious disdain on his face, just because I asked him for another spoon??
It seems like when it comes to non-white foreigners, the ice cream shop simply can't treat its customers with some basic...
