Marecrudo — Restaurant in Milan

I’m in my early 40s and sometimes I feel old in a restaurant, in this one I felt like a baby due to feeling of old that this place emanates with is darkness with tables far too close to each other with overtalkative aloof guests stuck in the 1980s. Prices are Milan average but with many empty tables on a Saturday night when it is normally impossible to eat without reserving many days ahead. The staff is very professional but a bit over bearing. Welcome glass of wine was a Prosecco while 1 hour by car away there is the far superior Franciacorta for Spumante. Both courses, scallop and squid had weird taste in the sauces, not rotten or bad, just weird like badly paired. For fish much better to walk 5 minutes more and go to Orti di Belvedere, or for an overall more value for money (a bit more expensive and no fish) to la Bettola di Piero which focuses more on making the guests feel at home and with better and more solid food and wine choices, but good luck finding a seat...

Ho trascorso il cenone di San Silvestro migliore della mia vita in un locale elegante di Milano facile da raggiungere sia dal centro che dalla periferia. Personale qualificato e gentile sempre attento alle tue esigenze sin da quando entri. Pulito moderno e pieno di specchi il bagno ti illumina a tal punto che non vorresti più uscire. Le sedute sono stracomode, la distanza fra i tavoli è quella ideale e le pietanze a base di pesce super fresco sia crudo che cotto ti stupiscono a tal punto che ti sembra di essere in un locale sul mare anziché nei pressi del centro di Milano. Il proprietario che cortesemente passa tra i tavoli a chiedere se tutto procede secondo le nostre esigenze è super carinissimo e, nonostante il posto sia “pettinato” con comerieri eleganti e prestanti sempre a disposizione, ti fa sentire come fossi a casa tua. Il ristorante è composto di ben due sale : quella all’ingresso ed il “Privé “ se così si può definire quella esterna. La temperatura è ok. La lista dei vini è infinita e può certamente soddisfare anche i palati più difficili.Che posso dire?! I dessert sono ipercalorici ma buonissimi …prendete il tiramisù: è qualcosa di strabiliante. Per finire e per essere realistico fino in fondo …io sono a Milano da trent’anni e di locali in ne ho frequentati anche tutte le sere e posso concludere che se questo non è il migliore è sicuramente tra i primi 10 in assoluto non solo per l’atmosfera vivace ma contenuta ma anche e soprattutto per il rapporto qualità/ prezzo senza eguali.Non perdetevelo...

The worst seafood restaurant I ever had in Milano. I ordered 4 sea urchins. All of them were fishy and smelly. The grilled lobster was still raw and had to ask for re-cooking. All fish in mixed grilled were smelly. Those were too disgusting to finish. It is the first time I was so disappointed of the seafood in Milano that I will never go to this...
