Decided to come to Miscusi after we saw it was very busy at pasta d’autre. While this was not our first choice as pasta d’autre is known for its great food, we entered when we saw extremely positive reviews and great prices. We did a review very similar to ours before walking in but decided to ignore it.
We asked a waiter who was free if he could seat us, and he asked ,as if we had done him some great inconvenience, if we had a reservation. We responded no because as said before this was not the initial plan. He told us, in a very harsh tone to go to the front desk. He did not seem to soften up later leading us to feel like an imense burden. I started to realise this was exactly what the review mentioned.
We were then seated. The ambiance was very nice but the chairs were extremely noisy and made a great fuss when we moved about, Which lost it some points. We then waited while chatting for about 15 minutes. We were expecting a menu but didnt get one. We tried calling a waiter several times but it was quite loud and i dont blame them for not hearing us. One then visited the table next to us and when we tried calling her she told us to give her a minute. She of course never came back. We then noticed the QR code holder, that was in italian on the side and realised we had to place a digital order. Again something mentioned in the review. We then procede to order and our food arrived shortly.
While the portions were generous for the price and smelled great. One bite into the egg plant parmigiano had our smiles turn upside down. The dish was presented well and tasted decent enough but the pasta was raw. We thought it was a one off but then the pesto caserrece turned out to be even worse. This one didnt even taste as good and some were borderline crunchy. Then we had the tagliatelle cacio e pepe. This was however cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious.
Then it dawned on me, this too was mentioned. We have eaten plenty of pasta in Milan and we know what al dente is and the waiteress tried to convince us that the caserrece was multigrain and thus was harder. What a poor excuse. The pasta was hard to digest thus i asked for some water. You can guess what happens next. It never arrived. We finished our food and tried to ask for the bill. Ignored several times again . We received it and upon seeing the service charge i pondered. What service did they really give. Was it being rudely seated, being repeatedly ignored, our needs forgotten or even being forced to orderit ourselves?
Well, overall it was thoroughly disappointing and the only saving grace being the tagliatelle cacio e pepe and the chocolate dessert. Do yourselves a favour, get a pizza or go to...
Read moreNot recommended at all!! Uncooked, chewy, and dry pasta Disappointing experience ... It was awarded one star because I can't rank less!
The service was negligent, the waitress refused to help us with the menu in English, then she gave us a QR code that did not work in either English or Italian, then she suggested using the website and got angry because in the end she had to explain it.
In addition, we chose a table outside and were assigned a place less than 30 cm from another table in a very crowded area!!
However, despite the fact that we said it was our first experience with pasta in Italy and asked for guidance in this regard, we were never guided as to whether pasta was al dente, which we found unpleasant (it was raw, and chewy) but we accepted the response of the waitress because we did not know, and the waiters said it should be like this because we make it fresh!
But that was not the only thing, in the end the waitress came to the table and took the dishes in a rude and aggressive way (without having finished the dinner), and when we asked for the bill, we found extra 4 euro that we didn't understand, when we asked the waitress, she replied in a rude way: it is the service at the table, if you do not like go to the kitchen for the order and take care of yourself (self service), or talk to the president of the country??!!
And the only funny situation but sad thing is that the toilet door does not work and I was shocked when I found another customer entering the toilet while I'm inside!
Sadly..this was our first time to try pasta in Milano and will be the last time because of miscusi's uncooked chewy dry pasta
We will keep loving...
Read moreThe food and drinks were good but the staff and atmosphere they created negatively impacted our experience with miscusi. We went there after watching the match and having some snacks, so we weren't very hungry. Just wanted to finish the day with some pasta and drinks. The staff was surprised we didn't want any starters but we know each country has its food culture. We said we were full and ordered pasta, cocktails and something to drink. Once we finished eating, the staff immediately cleaned the table asking if we wanted some dessert or coffee. As we were still sipping our drinks, we thanked and immersed ourselves in a conversation. After a while the same person came by asking the same question. We were full after the meal so we again said no. Then, the waitress came with our bill saying we can pay online or at the till. It was very rude as we were yet to finish our drinks and wanted to order some more. So it seems that you can only sit at miscusi when you eat. Once you finish, you should leave or order something more to eat. Apparently drinks are not enough to stay there and talk for a while. And the outside tables were mostly free so it wasn't like there were many people waiting to be seated.
To sum up, even though food is the main reason people go to restaurants, the atmosphere and hospitality is also important. Especially with so many places in Milan. We don't...
