Poor food, extremely rude staff and clearly a business owner that does not respect his customers.

This is my first time writing a review here thanks to the experience we had. The place looks lovely inside and out but that was about all the positives we found. We ordered pancakes and a burger. Pancakes were extremely dry and obviously not fresh. The burger was average at best. The money we were paying for them we expected much better.

However, worst of all was the rude staff. Our server was horrible from the get go while me and my partner were being nothing but polite. She gave the impression she was annoyed that we had the cheek of coming in there and disrupting her day. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was having a bad day but when my partner went up to pay another staff member, she was met by further rudeness.

The multiple reviews here stating similar experience of poor food and rude staff are clear this is a trend. Further, the cheeky and unhelpful replies that are being placed on some of these reviews show how uncaring the owner is. Surely they should be attempting to fix these issues rather than make excuses and blame the customers?

Very poor experience and would be surprised if this place is still in business when im back in Milan if the owner does not change his attitude and attempt to find politer staff and...

If or when you ask for pancakes 🥞, you-the customer need to be very specific in how you want them served to you. I brought them a picture if pancakes from their page and it did not come/was not served to me the way it look in the picture. The pancakes were not moist. They were DRY. AND they were cold. I started not to complain but then I thought, wait-a-minute....I am the one paying for this food!! I need to say something and let them know I'm not satisfied! No need in eating s meal that you're not satisfied with- you paying for it! So I did. I took the plate back. I also told the waitress IF I have room for eggs, I will order eggs AFTER I FINISH my pancakes. I might well has told her to bring me the eggs at the same time because that's what she did. The order came back to me look like a sandwich to the point I told the 2nd waitress that it was not my order. They served my eggs bacon and pancakes together, looking like a sandwich! I did not ask for that! The small kid size orange juice for the public cost 3 euro and some change. I believe a large orange juice should cost that amount. In the future, I'm going to just start making my own pancakes because even California Bakery (near City Life) serves cold, uncooked-just-came out-the- bread bag...

Dear Mug&co,

I am giving you a detailed feedback given your shameful comment. I arrived to the place and I was supposed to have an important call for work, therefore, I asked your waiter in advance if I could stay for at least 1 hour and he reassured me I could. So I made an order and took a sit on the terrace. But as soon as the order arrived I was informed by the owner that they were closing soon. When I explained that I had asked the waiter before he said “He is not the owner. I am!” What a hilarious comment…how am I supposed to know who is the owner and who is not to ask about the closure?! 🤷‍♀️ (Notice: NO “sorry” or apologies given about the inconvenience). So I had to finish my order literally in 30 sec and run back home under the rain to make it for the call on time.

To sum up, dear Owner, if you are talking about respect, or don’t make your staff work on public holidays or define well the working hours. And most importantly, don’t forget to pay the respect also to your customers who bring you money! 😉

All the best, Alina

P.s. after your impolite comment downgrading the...

I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and overall, it was a decent experience. The space is quite small, so I would recommend making a reservation to ensure that you have a seat. We decided to try the sandwiches, which were fine, but the real disappointment was the cinnamon buns. We were initially drawn in by the photos, but when we tried them, they were dry and obviously old. When we asked the staff about this, they told us that the buns were from yesterday and that they can't bake everything every day. As a bakery, I would expect that they would prioritize the quality and freshness of their products for their customers. While the sandwiches were decent, the disappointing cinnamon buns left a bad taste in our mouths and we unfortunately felt that it was a waste of money. Hopefully, the bakery will take this feedback into consideration and improve the quality of their products for future customers.

We came here for breakfast after reading the good reviews and looking at the photos. I ordered the scrambled eggs that comes with an orange juice and coffee. Visually it looked like a kids breakfast in size, and it tasted just ok. We talked about how we should have stayed home and made breakfast which would have been so much better.. For €15 I expected a larger plate and higher quality food. 2 eggs, a slice of white toast, a piece of bacon and 2 tiny pancakes? It's not hard to make, and as a restaurant you're expected to do it well. Based on photos the same breakfast was €10 two years ago. I'd say that price is fair for the amount of food, but even then you would still be disappointed in the quality. If you want a great breakfast, Farini is much better.

We booked a table in advance but once we arrived there were no available tables and they hadn't even reserved us a space! We were left to sit outside and it was pouring with rain (thunder and lighting included). Despite the shaky start, the food was great (recommend the pancakes and the avocado toast). Toilet also had baby changing facilities which was nice to see. Update: manager rudely and abruptly confronted us whist we were still seated in the cafe. He was unhappy about our fair review. He hadn't even bothered to acknowledge us until he saw our review. Another star lost because of this ( we originally gave four). Side note: Thank you to the kind waiter- there is still hope in humanity. It felt like he was trying to make up for the rude manager.
