We were visiting Milan and came here for lunch. There were a lot of open tables but we were seated at one by the door (it was cold and rainy). We asked if we could sit at one of the warmer tables further inside, but we were told we were a group of two and they had to save those tables for groups of four. That would be understandable, but immediately after they seated two new groups of two at the four-person tables after we were declined. Undeterred, we stayed and picked from the menu the food and drinks we wanted to order. Yet the waitress never came back to our table. 25 minutes passed and we tried to first wait patiently, call for her, and wave her down. She ignored us every time. We saw her talk to the tables that came after us, and finally, we saw their orders start to come to their table when we hadn’t even been able to order water or drinks. We were completely ignored and just showed ourselves the door and left. I don’t know if it was because we are not Italian, but we were treated horribly....
Read moreI recommend this nice local restaurant. Try the Tagliatelle with zucca (pumpkin) and salsiccia (sausage). Delicious! A delightful, small place, not far from Via Dante, across from Via San Tomaso and the Chiesa di San Tomaso. The atmosphere is not fancy, but bright, clean, and comfortable. I felt comfortable dining solo. Other diners included families, couples, and young singles. The waitress was so nice. She recommended the pasta, and my choice proved her right. I also tried the bruschetta. Different from the United States (which uses a hard, crispy bread). Here, toasted bread, but softer, diced tomatoes, oil, and herbs. [Much easier to eat than the hard, crispy bread. 😊]. Was only able to eat half. While it was okay, it and the pasta filled me up, so I was not able to try the desserts. I think it was very reasonably priced. Price per person included a starter, pasta, wine, and...
Read moreDon't go there again. The customer is completely disregarded (even humiliated) if there's a problem. It's likely that if there's no care in the service, there's no care in the kitchen and the provisioning. Our experience, with four families: First, we were neglected by the waiter who served the other tables before us, even though we arrived later (did the others speak Italian for that?) - He spilled the carafe of red wine on us, resulting in three irreparably stained items of clothing. Finally, after a simple formal apology during the meal, the owner presented the bill as if nothing had happened, insisting on the amount as if I were an idiot, without even considering making a gesture or offering anything. It is immoral to continue in this profession with such disregard for the customer. Please, Don't go there again.
