Il Marchese Milano — Restaurant in Milan

I recently organized a group dinner for 110 people at Il Marchese Milano, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, with each course impressively prepared and presented. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and quality of the dishes.

The service was equally remarkable. Despite the size of our group, the servers were attentive, friendly, and ensured that everything ran smoothly. A special shoutout to Greta, the manager, who was exceptional in her role. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests, making sure the entire event was perfectly organized. Her dedication and professionalism truly stood out.

The live band was the cherry on top. Their music added an extra layer of atmosphere, making the evening even more enjoyable. The combination of great food, attentive service, and lively entertainment made this a memorable night for everyone.

Had higher expectations with being mentioned on Michelin and price point. Some things good but generally underwhelmed and some issues as well:

Food: Wine: I understand wine markup at restaurants, but 50 euro for a cheap 10 euro mass-produced bottle is a bit excessive, especially in italy where local DOC wines are so accessible. Starters: Porcini mushroom soup was very bland, had to add lots of salt and pepper for any flavor. Salad with pear and walnut was just OK. Both mains were good also, lamb meatballs and beef cheek.

Service: Below expectations. Wife's menu was dirty and full of food residue which was quite gross. Mains were brought without silverware, then had to tell waiter which knife was the correct knife for beef when the tray of silverware was brought.

Atmosphere: Some good some bad. Noticed sewer odor coming from the restroom when we walked in the restaurant, which was confirmed when wife went to the restroom and there was a strong sewer odor, also no toilet paper. Decor in the restaurant was nice with large...

The type of restaurant where you can trust the chef. I’m a VERY picky eater and I honestly ate food for the first time in my life in a restaurant without having to adjust salt/pepper.

Service was impeccable, prices were definitely reasonable and the food was probably the best I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant in entire EUROPE!

The only BAD THING was that they threw the rest of our food in the trash even though we asked to take away. I’m sure their usual clients don’t mind having their food thrown away but we had half of BOTH our plates taken to the trash and although they apologised they should have fixed their mistake.
