Risotteria Melotti Milano — Restaurant in Milan

When we came to the restaurant we asked for a table for 2 and we were told that there's no space (even though there were plenty of free tables) and that we needed to make a reservation. So we left and made a reservation outside and entered back in and therefore we sat down. When we finally sat down it seemed like they were a bit understaffed, so please next time just say that you guys are understaffed, we really didn't want to be a bother. So that was a bit of a weird start. However, the quality of the food basically deleted this whole weird situation about sitting down, as it was just amazing. Starters were good and original, and the main courses - the risottos, were absolutely amazing. Overall the whole concept of the restaurant is also very cool, with every meal having to do something with rice. Definitely...

The servers were lovely, and the little restaurant was charming. Almost no one there around 8pm on a Monday. But the food was mediocre - and our orders came out very quickly (10 min max) which makes me wonder if everything is just heated up quickly. Not the best risotto I’ve had. This is also a chain restaurant which I didn’t realize - they have locations in all the major cities (Milan, Florence, NYC, and many others.)

Overall, would not go back. I am also not gluten free - so I could see where this restaurant would be amazing if you were looking for a good gluten free option. I do usually love risotto though ;)

Cost - I believe was 15€ for my mushroom risotto, 20€ for my husband’s seafood risotto (special of the day), 3€ for the Pelligrino, 3.50€ for the coke, and a 2.50 cover charge / person. Total about...

AMAZING experience 😍 This was the best risotto I’ve ever had, makes me want to go back and tried other kinds 🥹

They have quite a lot of vegetarian options, which I really liked. I tried risotto with local cheese and orange, and it was delicious, the rice was just on point, not too soft and not too hard.

My boyfriend also liked his dish, saffron risotto with meat. The third dish we ordered, pistacchio risotto with stracciatella cheese was also really, really good. Prices vary from 13€ to 18€ for a plate of risotto.

I’ve also tried tiramisu, and it was very tasty.
