An Authentic and Flavorful Lebanese Experience I recently had the pleasure of dining at Snack Sham, a Lebanese restaurant that promises a culinary journey into the heart of the Middle East. The images of my meal bear witness to an experience rich in authentic flavors and well-presented dishes. Upon entering, Snack Sham's ambiance revealed itself to be welcoming and informal, with well-set tables suggesting attention to detail. The first impression was of a place where conviviality is central, ideal for a dinner with friends or family, as suggested by the table laden with a variety of dishes. The meal began with a wide selection of appetizers, the classic Lebanese "mezze," which immediately captured my attention. Among these, the hummus stood out, with its creamy consistency and balanced flavor, a must-try of Middle Eastern cuisine. The images also show fried or baked potatoes, with a Middle Eastern twist, served in a small cast-iron pan with a generous sprinkling of aromatic herbs. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, a perfect accompaniment to the other flavors. Among the main courses, I particularly enjoyed the salad. The images show a tender and juicy chicken breast, beautifully grilled, resting on a bed of fresh salad with tomatoes, dish that perfectly balanced the richness of the other flavors. The meat , spicy and juicy was as well incredible... coupled with the salted yogurt, simply the biggest discovery of the dinner. It was with the desserts that Snack Sham left a lasting impression. The selection of baklava and Middle Eastern sweets was exceptional. On a polished silver plate were various types of baklava, some filled with walnuts, others with pistachios, and the fascinating "osh el bulbul" (nightingale's nests), small phyllo pastry tarts filled with dried fruits. Each piece was a delight, with its crispiness and the sweetness of honey. Furthermore, I tasted a creamy dessert, likely a Mouhalabieh or Ashtaliyeh, a type of milk pudding decorated with chopped pistachios and perhaps a hint of rose syrup. It was refreshing and light, a perfect contrast to the intense sweetness of the baklava, offering an elegant conclusion to the meal. The service was attentive and cordial, contributing to a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Snack Sham is the ideal place for anyone wishing to explore the authentic flavors of Lebanese cuisine, from classic mezze to traditional sweets. Every dish was a demonstration of culinary passion and mastery. I highly recommend Snack Sham to anyone looking for a genuine and memorable Lebanese...
Read moreI've passed by this sweet little place many times and finally got a chance to try it. Completely delicious falafel wrap, with all the fixings...like authentic pickles (pink and green) and a nice "kick" to the spicy sauce. Fresh pita wrap. Excellent flavor. Very nice person behind the counter cooking up what seemed to be a mountain of Sharma.
I was looking for a quick dinner with different flavors after a week of delicious Italian food. My original plan was to go with friends to Lyr restaurant earlier in the week, but it seems to have disappeared. I was truly "jonesing" for some real Lebanese flavors. My only disappoint was there was NO TABOULI...and the nice man didn't seem to know what it was. My Lebanese mother is shaking her finger from her...
Read moreFood was good but service was horrible....the worst I have ever had...maybe cause we are not "locals"? First they didn't want to seat us...Said there was no table when there was...I pointed to it so they let us sit down. Items came out one at a time...I had to ask for each one while things were getting cold. No drinks until we asked for those to at the end too. Talking to person while paying...he totally tuned us out half way through and started talking to someone else while we were still standing there! I have never been treated so rudely in a restaurant in my life. Falafels were over salted. Hummus was good but they didn't give us pita bread til we asked...what were we supposed to do? Dip our fingers in it? Even though food was decent, we will not...
