sweetburger - Porta Venezia — Restaurant in Milan

I’ve been a big fan of Sweetburger since they opened their first store and I would never stop to say that this is one of the best burger places in Milano. Their burger bun is square and sweeter than a usual burger bun, but together with the rest of the ingredients, everything feels so balanced. The meat is flavorful, and the packaging is perfect to catch all the juices and sauces dripping from the burger. I suggest taking a double patty burger since the bread is a bit thick. The fries are also very good, especially the “frystyle” ones: they are a mix of classic fries and sweet potato ones. I’ve never been the biggest fan of sweet potato fries, but these are so crispy! Mixing them with the classic ones is a great idea, so I don’t feel bored by the flavors and consistencies. I also suggest trying the “frittelline luna park”(which are fried doughs sprinkled with sugar), and dip them in the pistachio sauce: they’re out of this world! The service was very good too: the guy seemed very relaxed, professional and friendly, and when he made a small mistake with our order, he tried to fix it immediately without us asking him. The place itself is beautiful: from the neons to the tiles everything is perfect! It’s a fast-food but it’s also cozy, it seems that every single detail has been studied well and they put a lot of heart while making this place....

Scoperto di passaggio, la passione per i burger mi fa fermare in questo locale con ampio spazio per sedersi, dall'aspetto bello ma ormai inflazionato (tutte le Hamburgerie nuove che aprono sembrano avere lo stesso architetto!). Come quasi tutte le altre, il servizio è totalmente informale: si ordina al banco e ricevi il dischetto che squilla quando è pronto. Ed è proprio dal servizio che parto, perché è l'unica grande pecca. Sono arrivato presto, ad inizio servizio, col sorriso, e dentro non c'era nessuno: nonostante questo sono stato a malapena salutato e ad ogni mia domanda (per capire le opzioni, era la prima volta) il cassiere, chiaramente italiano, mi indicava il menu di fianco parlando a monosillabi. Come mettere a disagio il cliente in modo gratuito ed inspiegabile. Per il resto invece, davvero poco di negativo da dire: avevo paura che il panino potesse risultare troppo dolce, invece gli ingredienti erano tutti ben bilanciati. Si possono prendere Burger singoli o menu con patatine e bibita: opto per il Menu The Original, per provare quello della casa, qualcosa di nuovo. Per ogni menu c'è la possibilità di scegliere patatine normali, dolci o miste (le ultime 2 purtroppo con SOVRAPPREZZO!). Opto per le miste, vorrei una salsa ma anche quella (come indicato col dito sul menu dal cassiere muto) ha il SOVRAPPREZZO. Ok. Passiamo al cibo: l'attesa un pochino lunga (visto che ero l'unico) viene ripagata da un burger veramente buono. Come dicevo: ingredienti bilanciati ma anche carne di qualità, per un gusto sorprendente, e anche le patatine danno la loro bella soddisfazione. L'ambiente interno è nuovo e piacevole. Insomma, bella scoperta anche se non mi stancherò mai di ripeterlo perché quasi tutti se lo stanno scordando: l'hamburger nasce e rimane il cibo della strada, il cibo del popolo. Costa poco a chi lo prepara, e deve costare il giusto a chi lo consuma! 16 euro per un burger senza servizio al tavolo è eccessivo, (soprattutto visti i sovrapprezzi su tutto l'extra), ed il fatto che stia diventando quasi il prezzo standard non lo deve rendere più...

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing for a fast food restaurant. Comfortable and dynamic. We preferred the chicken burger. The bread was very good, the chicken was a bit small compared to the bread but the overall taste was good. They used thigh meat in the chicken. The fries are very very good. You can give it a try!

Edit: I have eaten here many times and always been satisfied. However, today there were a lot of small flies flying around in the place. I could not eat my food comfortably and the fact that there were so many flies made me think about the hygiene...
