Trattoria All'Antica — Restaurant in Milan

Maybe the stereotype about Milan people is not so far fetched after all? The food was good, it’s the service my family did not appreciate. We went there for a family dinner and called beforehand to make a reservation. The lady on the phone had a particular tone, one that you might use with your kid after they called you for the twentieth time in two minutes to show you something.

When we were ordering, after my partner asked the second question about a plate he was thinking of ordering, the Italian waiter that was serving us started having an attitude towards his questions. We later continued to order and the waiter explained that we had to wait extra because mum’s choice of food would take longer to be ready. I asked the waiter to bring my plate immediately and he replied “Are you seriously going to eat alone? And what is your family supposed to do? Stop and watch you eat?”

My dad ordered meat and the waiter went on the give us a whole lecture about how meat should be eaten “in the right way”, because according to him only Italians and French can eat meat ‘the right way’. When dad’s meat came, he asked for salt, pepper and olive oil, to which the waiter replied “you’re exaggerating now”.

When the waiter came to pick up the plates, he told my mum that she should eat all the meat around the bone.

We never understood the condescending tone the waiter used all through dinner with us. I am aware that I am writing my experience, but in my opinion his attitude was inappropriate and unfortunately impacted our overall...

I ordered Risotto with ossobuco. It was okay… nothing amazing. Photos look great but the taste itself was average. 28€

Service was awful. Upon walking in, every staff was cold, not welcoming at all. One of the male waiter was especially rude and racist. He approached me saying “ni hao” and “Shia shia”- I am not Chinese. Then offered another menu and I kindly declined. Then he said “ok listen. Do you speak English?” When he poured my red wine, I said it tasted good and he replied “I know”.

Overall, horrible experience. I wanted to leave the first 2 minutes. Waste of my time and money. Spent 38€ on entree, wine glass and 3€ cover charge. Not worth it for the mediocre food and...

Cena super! Ho cenato qui con il mio ragazzo qualche weekend fa in occasione del compleanno di sua mamma. Aveva trovato questo posto in una lista su internet che consigliava posti dove mangiare la miglior cotoletta di Milano. Prima di prenotare li aveva chiamati per chiedere se avessero piatti anche a base di verdure e pesce (io non mangio carne) e si sono dimostrati fin dall’inizio davvero disponibili e gentili confermando che li avessero e spiegando il menu. Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto a base di alici del Cantabrico, burro e crostini caldi, e dei fiori di zucca ripieni. Abbiamo proseguito con un primo da dividere a base di pasta fatta in casa da loro e porcini freschi, davvero divini e come secondo io e il mio ragazzo ci siamo divisi due piatti di pesce (polpo con contorno di porcini e pesce alla catalana). Qualità, cottura e materie prime fantastiche. La mamma del mio ragazzo ha optato per la cotoletta alla milanese, una delle loro specialità che oltretutto aveva prenotato telefonicamente per non rischiare di rimanere senza 😁 Sia lei, che il mio ragazzo, che il papà (l’hanno assaggiata anche loro) hanno detto che sicuramente è stata la più buona mai provata in vita loro. La carne era un burro, taglio più alto rispetto a quella che trovate in giro, cottura e panatura perfette. Speciale insomma. Come dolce abbiamo ordinato telefonicamente una crostata ai frutti rossi che ci hanno fatto home-made per poter spegnere le candeline a fine cena. Personale super cortese, attento e mai invadente (un ringraziamento particolare al ragazzo sardo), ambiente raccolto, pulitissimo e davvero rilassante. Prezzi in linea con la qualità offerta. Raramente assegno 5 stelle ma loro se le son meritate 😊 Ad un certo punto della serata è venuto a salutarci anche lo chef che ci ha raccontato qualcosa in più sui piatti provati.
