Ok. The theme of this place is pasta and that was immaculately delicious. We had the linguini con crema di porro and spaghetti aglio e olio. The quality of the ingredients is superb as well as the effort put into the food by the kitchen. The pineapple in the fruit salad was nicely fine diced and the marinated apple cut as thin as paper (how tf do they do that?!?). Nonetheless, the radicchio salad was overloaded with caramelised pumpkin chunks, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, raisins and sauteed mushrooms so that the advertised lime dressing didn't come through this flavour potpurri at all and the whole salad lacked basic acidity. Strangely enough, my request for an additional slice of lime or lemon could not be met (lime dressing but no lime in the house?!?🤔), but a small drizzle of the offered aceto balsamico saved the dish. Also, I would have preferred a fresh orange slice in my Campari Spritz instead of a dried one, but that is a matter of personal taste. Therefore, all in all, the food still deserves five stars, especially with the price taken into consideration, however, with a wee grain of salt... Less so can be said for the service. Sorry, but the concept of asking the guest in a seated restaurant to order at the cash desk and pay in advance is not innovative, its simply lazy! Not only does it make the guest feel awkward to stand up front and browse the menu to make a new choice because the first one is sold out, you have to get up again and go through the same procedure to simply order a desert or a coffee. Surely prevents some people from doing exactly that! Also, why it is not possible to order a different dressing (which is also on the menu) for the salad, to me can hardly be explained... Nonetheless, the service team is very friendly and courteous which saves three stars in this category. Finally, the ambience is definitely worth five stars. Warm atmosphere and a good choice of background music wich stays in the background to allow conversation at a decent...
Read moreOne of my favorite experiences in all of Italy was coming here with my father almost a year ago and getting a chance to see the energy and passion that this staff had in their work. With great pride, enthusiasm and authenticity in their craft, each and every staff member we spoke with showed their optimism for the growth of their idea and cuisine.
Even the greyest Milan skies couldn’t compete with the cheerful yellow of Via Pasteria. This storefront glows like a lemon drop in a rain puddle, pulling you in with color therapy and the promise of handmade pasta!
Inside, pasta wasn’t just served—it was celebrated. In open fridge drawers stacked like treasure chests, we met pasta in all its forms: linguine, rigatoni, fusilli, paccheri. A proud staff member guided us through the pasta fridge with the same joy a sommelier might show you a cellar.
This plate? Handmade Semolina linguini crowned with delicate Mazara del Vallo shrimp tartare and generous black truffle. A dish that whispered luxury but spoke the language of balance. Rich, cold, earthy, briny—all in one twirl of a fork.
Wide, bronze-toned pasta shells hugged bits of squid and parsley cream. Rustic and refined, this dish felt like the culinary version of jazz—surprising, smoky, and smooth in the end.
Sure, it’s just a salad… until it isn’t. Crisp romaine, creamy dressing, and the unexpected joy of thick pancetta croutons. A refreshing interlude between two pasta acts.
From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, we were treated like family and guided through our experience with great fervor and excitement! We tried to taste everything, getting the hearty traditional entrees, something exotic and local.
The experience was of great anticipation, flavor explosion and satisfying design. I appreciate the tremendous efforts, quality applications, and great design behind this whole concept.
You must go, experience all the flavors and joy of this great space! Thank you all for a...
Read moreUnfortunately it is safe to say I was absolutely shocked by our experience here. With such an influx of good reviews, I had high expectations for this place, unfortunately it wasn’t even mediocre, it was terrible. We have come to Milan, and after reading the reviews we’re expecting brilliant homemade pasta from a place that prides itself on the quality of its pasta dishes, but it was far from that. The only positive about this place was that the staff were polite and reasonably efficient. We had a carbonara and a bolognese, luckily we only ordered regular portions as that was hard enough to eat and wouldn’t have wanted to waste anymore money on the large. The bolognese was plain and lacked tomato, it had to be coated in parmesan and salt to make it somewhat edible and the carbonara was just pasta dipped in stodgy, curdled egg yolk. If it wasn’t for the €1 bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, I am not sure what we would’ve eaten. The drinks were also not made fresh and not a glass in sight! It was also not made apparent that essentially this place is a glamorised fast food restaurant where you are expected to do almost everything yourself, including getting your own water, bread and emptying your tray. For the price tag the least I would’ve expected in a small, sit down restaurant would be table service. Thus we were extremely disappointed with our experience and even voiced this to staff and nothing was done. Judging by other reviews maybe this restaurant is for some people but certainly wasn’t for us, if you want authentic, delicious pasta whilst in Milan, definitely...
