Ristorante Giardiniello Minori - Costa d’Amalfi — Restaurant in Minori

So today the 18th of September at around 830 pm When going to this resturaunt we were greeted very quickly and soon after we recieved a table. Which was amazing.we sat down right in front of the kitchen which we thought was great. We saw the workers do an amazing job with cooking and sending out the dishes quickly. Throughout our time we had at least 3 different servers approach us taking different orders etc which was fine everyone was nice and attentive.food we ordered was great and quick .we ordered a wine a beer water a pizza and gnocchi dish. I noticed that the other servers we bringing to each table st the end of their meal a limoncello . I ALSO SAW ONLINE PEOPLE WERE GIVEN LIMONCELLO TO TRY . When I went to ask for it. I got one When we go the Bill I saw they charged us the 5 euros for it. Now I don't mind paying that why we go out to eat. But I thought it was strange my husband didn't even get one just me and they charged us but no one else is getting charged left a bad taste for us. They pick and choose. And I went back to look at reviews to make sure I saw it correctly . Just disappointing for that if they do give out one each after the meal but close...

The decor is very nice with fresh flowers and very bright. Nice linens and table settings.

Staff speaks English well and understands most phases. Service was good. Prices were slightly higher than most in the area.

They charge a 3 Euro per person "comperto" ( cover charge to sit at the table and give you bread). Every restaurant is different on whether they charge or not and they are never posted.

The antipasto was not very good. 2 large pieces of what tasted like cantaloupe and topped with prosciutto.

The pasta dishes were both delicious. We had the gnocchi and the one with pepper. The heat from pepper quickly came up on you seconds after eating it. Excellent.

The chicken with potatoes (actually French fries) was bland. The fries were fries. The chicken was cut super thin (but you received 2 pieces) and had oil and lemon on top. First meal in Italy That i would say to NEVER order.

The steak entree was simply a thin slice of meat. Cooked well regardless of how you wanted it and bland.

If you eat here ONLY order traditional...

Maggots on food -

My husband and I visited this restaurant in September while on our honeymoon. The place looked charming, especially the courtyard seating, which initially drew us in. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse due to poor service and a serious hygiene issue.

We ordered the seafood platter, which was quite expensive (around €50). Partway through the meal, we noticed maggots crawling on the food. We discreetly brought this to our server’s attention, not wanting to cause a scene, though it was obviously disturbing. The server removed the plate without much of a response, and later the manager came by and casually offered to bring us a new platter—“without maggots this time.”

Needless to say, we had completely lost our appetite…. What shocked us most was that the dish wasn’t even taken off our bill. At any reputable restaurant, something like this would be handled with far more care and accountability.
