“Add'ù Fratemo” Trattoria/Pizzeria — Restaurant in Naples

AVOID. We had a highly unpleasant experience here, that ended up costing us more then a Michelin Star meal. The food was ok, although not great, i would give is 3*, but service has been the worst i have encountered in all my travels. Waiting staff have been incredibly rude, up to the point where they took a half finished glass of wine out of my partner's hand and without any comment took it away because we had no more food on our plates at that point. We were given 'dirty looks' as none-locals all though out the meal, looked like the couldn't wait to see us gone. Outside seating, although is signed as nonesmoking, stank of cigarette smoke heavily. But wait, the horror starts here - before deciding to enter the restaurant we asked if credit card was accepted and the waiter confirmed, yes it was. Well guess what - when i wanted to pay, i was told that cards are NOT accepted after and i needed to go look for a cash machine. Was sent in a general direction by the waiter - and that direction proved to have only closed banks and no cash machines. Took me about 30 minutes of desperately running around and asking locals to find a place where i could withdraw cash. (Meanwhile my partner who had stayed behind to wait at the restaurant was treated like a criminal and shunned by the staff. ) After running back, and paying i got no change back, no apology for sending me in the wrong direction, only a snark and a ' what do you want!' Worst part of this sad story - all the running around made us miss our train to Rome (by 3 minutes :( ) and we had to buy new ticket - making a grand total of this two pizza meal €113,75 +...

I visited this place on 29 September 2023 for dinner and I absolutely do not recommend this place. The food quality was quite low and when we complained about their food, our request was completely ignored and we were charged for food we did not consume because it was not good. We ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad and the mozzarella was really warm and rubbery. When we complained, the chef appeared, eating mozzarella from a plate, saying it is all ok. When we asked for olive oil, they came up with some oil that we could not recognize what it was. I think as people from south Italy, and especially from Napoli, they should be completely embarrassed with the quality of the food and oil they serve. While they might think they are entitled to charge us 8€ for the salad we did not like, I would like to remind them that it contributes to the “bad” reputation stories that people tell about Napoli. Classic Napoli base, crispy yet soft in the middle crust and soft soggy base in the middle, and pizza base sauce is just ...mamma Mia..delicious sweet and "tomato'y" (I know it's not a real word ) ... service was quick , food was not expensive , Margherita was €5 Euro's and quattro formaggi was €6 and 1 litre (actually it was 92cl) of still mineral water was €2. There was parking nearby for €2 an hour, but it's in the centre of town so can easily use public transport or walk if you're in accomodation nearby. If you're after fine dining then give it a miss but if you want the classic Napoli pizza in a family run pizzeria then I Highly recommended going...
