During my recent trip to Naples, I initially planned to dine at Starita, but it was unexpectedly closed. I spotted this place down the street and decided to give it a try, ordering a quattro stagioni(it means four seasons in Italian, and such a pizza blends various seasonal toppings).
• They use a wood-fired oven, which is always a positive indicator for a pizzeria, but it is not the only parameter to consider.
• The dough was above average in taste, but not exceptional. There was excessive charring at the bottom. Unfortunately, the toppings were underwhelming: Artichokes and mushrooms were canned. Artichokes in particular had a zesty flavor which masks their true flavor. The tomato sauce tasted somewhat like a soup: unnaturally smooth and fluid with ketchup like taste. The meat topping was also pretty average in taste.
• The staff members are nice and the place is clean. However, due to the high number of take-out orders, the quality of the sit-down service was inconsistent.
To sum up, while the prices were fair, the overall value didn’t quite align because of the subpar ingredient quality. With that said it is not really bad. If it weren't in Naples, I would have given it...
Read moreWow. Wow. Wow. This pizza blew me away. My boyfriend and I were going to try out another pizzeria up the street with a 45 minute wait, but we were too hungry, so we tried this instead. Best decision ever. This is by far the best pizza I’ve ever had (and we did end up trying the other place). We don’t speak Italian, but had no issue with ordering, or service. We had a fabulous meal, and only spent €20, and I have never left a restaurant more satisfied. I will come back to Naples just to eat...
Read moreIt could have been 5 stars for the quality of the excellent pizzas. One is lost to the unfriendly service (I speak 3 languages and a bit of italian, and they look impatient if you don't speak fluent. We are respectful people and we try...), two other are lost to the rip off of tourists!! On the card my pizza was 4,50€ and my partner's 6€, they charged 5 and 7€! Same story for the beer and antipasti!! (And this is not linked to service, which was also...
