Antica Taverna a Chiaia located in Napoli, Italy is a must-visit for any food enthusiast! The restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with great attention to detail. The ambience is lively and perfect for an exciting meal with good company.
The house wine is a delight to the senses, with its smooth flavour and great texture. The appetizers, especially the Mozzarella e Pomodoro, are fresh and well-prepared. The dish was a great combination of the freshness of the tomatoes and the creaminess of the mozzarella, making it a perfect start to the meal.
For the main course, I ordered the Linguine alla Gamberi and my wife ordered Linguine Vongole. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a texture that was neither too hard nor too soft. The shrimp in the Linguine alla Gamberi was fresh and delicious, and the sauce was rich and flavourful. The Linguine Vongole was equally impressive, with the clams cooked to perfection and the sauce complementing the pasta beautifully.
Overall, Antica Taverna a Chiaia exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great Italian dining experience in Napoli. The food, service and atmosphere make for a fantastic dining experience that is worth every penny. I can't wait to visit this...
Read moreFirstly we were dragged off the street into this restaurant before being able to even look at the menu. This lead to a member of our party at the back being bounced around like a pinball by waitresses. We were seated right by the door on a platform. Bearing in mind there was not much room on this platform behind us the waitresses stood extremely close to us and every time they did the platform was knock us around. We said we needed more time to decide in which one waitresses waited over our shoulder instead of giving us some space. We were given bread to start. A waitress who looked like she was dressed in her pyjamas then decided to collect our bread plates with our bread on still. No communication just tipped our bread along with all the crumbs on the table in front of us! Two members of the party ordered meatballs and pasta. Which we then realised were sat in a dish pre cooked on the side of the restaurant, god knows how long they had been sat there for. For €15 they only received one meatball! Another member of our party ordered cod risotto, this portion size was better however way too much salt to even attempt to finish it. Very poor customer service. Do...
Read moreI choose the restaurant after the reviews and the food deserves its high rating. Me and me fiancee shared an octopus salad as an appetizer, paccheri with cod, as well as a fried cod with lemon sauce. The Paccheri with cod were wonderful, while the octopus salad itself was well marinated in lemon and a delight in terms of taste. The fried cod itself was a little bit greasy, but the lemon sauce helped a lot in balancing the dish. The bread included in the coperto seemed to be old, which could definitevily be improved. I grant them only 2 stars for the atmosphere as the design of the terrace was not really enjoyable in my opinion, mostly due to the wall of fake roses and the design of the tables and chairs. The sisters were really friendly, as they even advised us to avoid a dish with friarelli as it was off season. I must state though that I found their live advertisments for the people passing by a little bit disturbing. They tried the same with us when passing by, which made me feel a little bit unsure if we should better revise the decision to eat there or not. But in the end we were happy with our decision, mainly due to the quality of the food and the...
