Terrible Dining Experience! Avoid!! My parents dined here yesterday, and their experience was nothing short of awful. The service was horrendous. Slow, inattentive, and unapologetic. But the worst part was the food. My mother ordered the "Spaghetti 7 passi a Chiaia" and later suffered from severe food poisoning. The fact that a meal could cause such a reaction is completely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the restaurant's hygiene and food safety standards.Beyond that, the overall quality was dismal, poorly prepared dishes, lack of flavour, and an obvious disregard for customer satisfaction. I would strongly advise against dining here unless you want to risk both your money and your health. Truly disappointing experience. --- Further update 17.08.25 --- Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your attempt to deflect responsibility only reinforces our concerns about your restaurant’s integrity and safety standards. Let me address your claims directly: "You couldn’t identify the source": My mother exclusively ate your Spaghetti 7 passi a Chiaia before falling severely ill. No other food or "seasoning" was consumed for hours prior. Food poisoning symptoms align precisely with her reaction. Your suggestion that "cold water" or unrelated factors caused this is medically baseless and insulting. "They should have complained at the cashier": They did. As mentioned in our review (and confirmed by our receipt), my parents went to the cashier to pay due to absent table service. At that time, they raised concerns about the meal’s quality. They were ignored. Claiming they "could have come to you" is dishonest as they did, and they were dismissed. "I eat here myself, so it’s safe" Your personal consumption habits are irrelevant. As the owner, you likely don’t eat from the same batch or during peak rushes when standards slip. This is a logical fallacy, not proof of safety. "Blaming is inhumane": No. Serving unsafe food and gaslighting victims is inhumane. We have the receipt, the timeline, and a doctor’s confirmation of food poisoning. Your refusal to investigate, instead inventing imaginary culprits like "a glass of water" proves your disregard for customer welfare and your poor attempt at gazlighting your customer won't help.
Acknowledge the incident publicly. Audit your kitchen hygiene. Until then, we stand by our review.
Given the severity. Your response has confirmed our worst fears: this isn’t incompetence, it is...
Read moreREPLY to owner: Who said this happened yesterday? It was on May 6... And no good restaurant cooks without any seasoning. Just as FYI: there was no pepper on the table - but it would not have made this good cooking either way. And I am sure it was your restaurant. I stand by my review? REVIEW: This is a tourist trap. The ragu contained literally 2 cubes of meat of about 1.5cmx1.5cm. There was not a spec of seasoning to be found anywhere (no pepper, no herbs, little salt). This dish cost probably less than 2 Euros to make. This made the seemingly reasonably priced food expensive for Napoli, on top of bland and near-vegetarian when you order a meat dish. The side of grilled vegetables, while often served cold, where in this case however also undercooked to near-raw. This is unpleasant and inedible in the case of eggplant/aubergine and zucchini. When we let the waiter know why we did not eat those dishes, nobody cared. I was condescendingly told that "this is the style of Napoli", and treated as a dumb tourist. We ate a lot of food in Italy in different restaurants, and nobody serves these dishes mostly raw or a ragu without meat in it. This is very bad value for money, and the food is just disappointing. No apology, nor compensation. The waiter did try to convey to the kitchen and management that we did not eat our food because of these issues, but there was no reaction. We were charged full price, and ignored after this until we left. Avoid. There are much better places in Napoli. I would be happy to pay their prices if the food were good and the portions appropriate. It is truly a mystery why this place gets rated as highly as it is. (When the table next to us asked why they still did not receive their food after 50 minutes, they were told "you ordered fish, and it takes a really long time to cook fish". They really treat their customers like...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE…it’s years im seeing and hearing from people they are being scammed. I’m originally from here and I’m tired of seeing this restaurant amongst others take advantage of tourists. They will try to sucker you in and once they do they will give you extra food and tell you it’s to taste and it’s a home specialty but what they are actually doing is just adding it to your bill. They are way over priced and food is average if that. On an occasion I found out from a friend of ours (also Italian) who stopped here and said that the waiter said he had not enough change and kept the whole difference as his tip without their consent when they confronted him he became very threatening and told them good night. Tourist might think it’s good but do you really know what the food is supposed to taste like. There are many real much better places in Naples that you are not being played and people are sincere and honest. Most of all put their passion in making sure their food is authentic and done properly. Before posting this review I tested these guys out and only spoke English letting them think I was from out of town..little did they know I am a local…guess what a bunch of sly foxes.Do what you want but beware!! Great places to try trattoria pizzeria da nennella / Da Maria/ da Carmne /anem e pizza/ san Michele antica pizzeria/ I scugnizzi in Vomero/ pizza Laezza/ calla la pasta/ and many more for great prices...
