Core 'e Mamma Napoli — Restaurant in Naples

I found this gem of a place at the most unfortunate time . I was in the area making funeral arrangements for my dad who passed in Naples. The owner Armando and his son who happened to have lived and worked in New York, quickly made me feel at home , myself also being from N.Y. I went to the restaurant that night I think the place was closed but Armando assured me he was open. Not only did I find top notch food comparable to any fine dining establishment in NYC but I found a restantouer with a warm heart and also with a sense of a humor when I needed it the most . I went back with my sister when she arrived and one last time before I left. If your reading this review I can assure you there are many good places to eat but if your in the heart of Napoli check this place out especially if your from New York . Armando his son and his staff will make your heart feel warm , and you will have an authentic Napolitan meal served by a true gentleman . Also the area he is the new and hip upcoming part of the city feels...

Very disappointed. Antonio was a very welcoming man… but after that we were really frustrated with the service. First selection on order was not available… which is fine. But then food was very salty, the arugula was all wilted with the bruschetta. The menu was limited. No salads written on it, but we see other people receiving. Then the bill had additional fee for the table cloth change? I asked why and he wasn’t happy. Never seen this before yet in Naples. But overall not worth it. Frustrated customer… and they seemed ok with that when I left.

I see after researching more the coperto is common here in Italy. The review stands....

SCAM The so called "Bierra Grande" is not a large beer. 330ml beer for 5€ and calling it "Grande" is a scam in my mind. The small beer with 250ml cost 4€. So a typical large beer with 500ml would cost you 8€! The food was Ok for us but it was not much for 14€ per dish. The restroom was also a problem. The toilet has no seat on it and was little bit dirty inside. The sink wasn't connected to the watersystem, so I couldn't even wash my hands before I ate my meal. Absolutely no Recommendation from me, just go 2min further and I'm sure you will find a better restaurant with nice food and normal...
