Desìo Gelato & Pastry — Restaurant in Naples

When I'm in Barcelona 🇪🇸, the dessert I eat the most is gelato 🍨. So when in Italy 🇮🇹, what else could I have? 🤭 After our last lunch in Napoli 🇮🇹, we headed to a parlor nearby, Desio Gelato & Pastry, located on the ground floor of the Royal Continental Hotel. The venue is nice but we decided to have our gelato 🍨 to go and keep walking 🚶 towards the city center. Each of us had a 2️⃣-scoop cone. One of the cool things in Italy is that gelato is cheap so we don't need to share a 4 or 5 scoop gelato to save money. 👍 This one in particular wasn't too cheap compared to other places in Napoli (or in Italy 🇮🇹, in fact): €3 for a rather small cone. But in Barcelona 🇪🇸, this would be something like €5 nowadays... 🙄 The flavors I tried were good, except the Nutella and peanut one maybe, but that's understandable... have you ever had cold Nutella? That's not great. 👎 The cream wasn't too sweet and its texture was good although it melted pretty fast... 🫠 and it was still Winter! ❄️ Overall it was a pretty satisfying experience but... what about the presentation?! I've never seen such terrible scoops. 😳 The only explanation I see is that it was the clerk's first day serving gelato 🍨. What a mess!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this gelato shop! I’ve been coming here almost every other day during my stay in Naples, and it has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the trip. The gelato is absolutely incredible — Lotto is a true standout, but honestly every flavor I’ve tried has been amazing.

The staff makes the experience even more special — they’re so friendly, welcoming, and always greet you with a smile that makes you feel like a local. It’s the kind of place you leave happier than when you walked in.

I also love that they’re open until midnight every day — perfect for a late-night gelato run after wandering the beautiful streets of Naples. If you’re in the city, this is a must-visit spot. Sweet, authentic, and...
