I generally don't write reviews but I feel I need to tell people how bad the experience was so no one had the experience my friends and I had.
It didn't take long for the night to take a turn with the staff being incredibly unfriendly in a manner I have never seen before, refusing to make eye contact, completely ignoring us and worst of all treating any of our interactions as the greatest inconvenience of their lives.
I could have forgiven the incredibly bad customer service (so bad the staff were openly fighting among themselves), but the food and drinks were so below par I couldn't believe how well reviewed this place was. The biggest issue for me was the Aperol Spritz we ordered was the worst I have ever tasted, no ice, soda and maybe a sprinkle of prosecco. It was so bad that the next day we had to ask a different place that they did serve ice with it and the waiter laughed saying of course it would be ridiculous not to have it. We have ordered 5 and left them all behind as we finished our meal.
The food for the most part was sub par, with the likes of the chips and pizza being okay but everything else being poor. There were 8 of us who would have gladly stayed for a drink but quickly left because the experience ruined our night.
Lastly, the waiter added on two drinks to our order and didn't even apologise or acknowledge their mistake when I enquired about the issue to them. Rolling his eyes at me and looking me up and down.
I could not stress enough how bad an experience this night was and would not...
Read moreI have never reviewed a restaurant before, but felt like I had to make an exception for this place, so that other tourists arent as disappointed as we were. Sadly, there really was nothing right during our visit to this restaurant. When in Italy for a few days you expect to enjoy quality italian food, however instead of enjoying our meal we couldn't wait to leave. To start with, the 'bruschetta' was burnt toast with tomato on top, no olive oil, no basil, just toast and tomato. The carbonara tasted and smelled atrocious, the bacon was chewy and despite being hungry I couldnt force myself to eat it. The penne arrabiatta was just as disappointing and they had clearly used a jar of sauce. The bread they threw on our table was stale and again we had to ask for olive oil. The only thing midly pleasant was our cold coke but even this we had to remind the waiter to grab for us.
Really very disappointing, and a complete waste of money- ironically this was the most expensive meal during our stay. Had to laugh about how disastrous the meal was in the end. Hope nobody else experiences this...
Read moreFood was nice enough but we had the awful experience of watching as a small group of young people challenged the owner over the addition of bread cover AND service charge to their bill escalate to the point that one staff member punched one of the young people in the back of the head sending him crashing into a table and knocking glassware to the floor. I really don't care what was said between them, this type of physical outburst is indefensible. Moments later our waiter was at our table to apologize and justify what happened, telling us that the young person made the first move. This simply wasn't true and is supported by the mere fact he was punched in the back of the head and the attacker had to move at least one metre to reach him.
I'm sharing this as although the food and service was good enough, better to know the possible consequences of challenging your bill or anything else. Also of note is that no additional service charge was added to our (couple in 40s) bill so possibly younger people are targeted. Stay...
