Pizzeria I Decumani — Restaurant in Naples

First they were handing out flyers with three different dishes for €9, one being pizza. When we went there and asked about the offer they suddenly didn't have pizza, instead they gave us another flyer with two dishes for €18, pasta and fish. We got very little pasta, as did the father and son next to us who had choosen the same thing. Another couple arriving a little later ordered the same as well and got much larger portions of pasta, so we suspect the kitchen staff split two full plates into four smaker ones. And the fish with sallad was terrible! Small, dry, filled with bones and tasteless as in no salt at all, served with just a few tiny bits of ruccola. The father and son next to us was equally dissapointed. So the price was a rip off! And they DID have pizza as they served it to a family who got seated at the tables upstairs. We happen to overhear their order visiting the restroom upstairs as well as seeing the waitress running up the stairs with the newly baked pizza from the proclaimed cold oven!

Add another €4 for sitting there and their own tip on the bill, we ended up paying €55 in total. DO NOT GO THERE!...

I have been going to Napoli for 16years and always visited Decumani. However last June when i was there i noticed the pizza was different-not as good as before. We gave it another visit yesterday December 26th waited 20 minutes to enter,which was quick. However inside we waited 50 minutes for our pizza. We literally had our coats on and about to leave when they arrived- 50minutes later!! We decided to stay and eat but again the pizza was not as good as years ago. No member of staff apologised for the long delay which was appalling. Ironically as we were leaving another table were complaining that there food was taking too long and cancelled. It is a pity that the staff do not care about their customers - a simple apology for the delay would have been fine,or a token gesture,but nothing. The standards have fallen in Decumani which is a pity and unfortunately because of this after many many years of going there,I will no longer go back. Stopped here for lunch, nice street view from outdoor table and the food was ok - definitely not the best pizza we’ve had - but the service was not good. Offering bread and ham in a way that implied it was complimentary (luckily we guessed it wouldn’t be so declined), stopping us from going inside to use the toilet saying they were for customers only because they didn’t recognise us despite having been serving us for nearly an hour and then making strange comments to my partner when I put my card down to pay, saying a pretty girl with bright skin shouldn’t pay and asking him to give an extra tip to impress me. Seems like a bit of a tourist trap and I’m sure there would have been better...
