A Mixed Experience like many other restaurants in the bustling streets of Naples, this one caught our attention because of its air conditioning. On a warm day, that’s a significant plus. We were a party of three—my husband, my son, and myself. The appetizers and salads were good, setting a positive tone for the meal. However, our main orders left us puzzled. Why didn’t they arrive together? My husband’s pizza appeared promptly, while my pasta and my son’s pasta took their sweet time. By the time my seafood pasta arrived, my husband had already finished his meal. And those shrimps—oh, the shrimps! They weren’t properly cleaned, which put me off entirely , the digestive tract with the poop were there and when i asked why the shrimps were not cleaned they didn't answer . I skipped them To add to the confusion, my son’s pasta had cheese—a surprise since we hadn’t ordered it. Our lactose-intolerant son couldn’t touch it. When we raised the issue with the waiter, we were met with resistance. Apparently, it was “the way they eat it,” and the menu supposedly mentioned it. We double-checked, and no such cheese disclaimer existed. After some back-and-forth, they replaced the bolognese pasta without charging us extra. But overall, spending nearly two hours for this meal wasn’t the highlight of our day. take note: Consistency matters, cleanliness is non-negotiable, and clear communication saves...
Read moreAVOID. We came here following the good reviews but the place is highly overrated. The food was terrible and the service was literally a disaster. They served the salted mushrooms cold, the seas been fish with a mountain of salt that made it impossible to eat it. I ordered baccala a la siciliana, which was insanely salted. They charged us a mandatory extra 12% for service which is NOT SPECIFIED IN THE MENU. The service was awful. They forgot to serve bread in the table. They were extremely slow and disrespectful. We had to ask for the menu several times and waited for 1 hour to have the food. We complain about the service and the UNDECLARED MANDATORY TIP OF 12% but the owner mocked us and lied saying that ‘in Naples you always have to pay 12% of mandatory tip. They scam you because you are a tourist and probably will never come back. There are many better places in Naples! Not...
Read moreThe place looked very nice, so we were happy to have a table at hosteria Toledo. We ordered two drinks, one came after a few minutes, but the other didn't come. After 5 minutes, we asked if we could have the other drink, and our waiter simply told us he didn't have any gin. We asked him why he didn't tell us, and if we could instead order another drink. After a long pause, he eventually went to a nearby shop to buy some gin and make us a gin tonic. The food was very nice, we had pasta al vongole. Afterwards, we wanted to ask for a desert. We figured our waiter had a bad day, so we asked someone else. She simply told us: wait! She never came back. We then saw other clients receiving some olive oil and bread, we didn't get anything besides what we asked for. Beside the bad experience, we had nice company and the...
