Trattoria Annarè Quartieri — Restaurant in Naples

I do not recommend this establishment. The Ginger haired Matradie was smooth and friendly. The first thing I asked was "Do you take credit cards". He answered "Yes, of course".

The food was so so and service OK. After finishing, I presented my card which he took, then returned. "We are having a problem with our machine, I will check in 5 minutes"..... We had this scheme tried on us a few days earlier in Rome. I was told their machine did not work and I had to go to the ATM next to their resturant to get cash. I steadfastly refused and things were resolved in my favor.

The Ginger Matradie came out and told me I had to go to the ATM next to their resturant to get cash... They don't try this with locals. This is a game with them. Not wishing to make a scene in front of my family, my wife and I paid with our stash of Euros.

For being brazenly dishonest, they earned a one star review and a warning to anyone considering stopping...

We sat down at this place, the greeting was quite good, which put our hopes up. After the greeting everything went downside. The drinks came quickly, but the food was pretty bad. After one of us finished his drink and ask for one more it was forgotten. The shrimps we ordered tasted not very well (probably not the freshest), the salads with cheese were without cheese, and after we asked for cheese and reminded him the drink he only brought the drink, no cheese. The most devastating part was paying the bill. The waiter told us after we had finished that today we can not pay by card and sent one of us to take the money out from the atm. Our starters arrived promptly but we found a hair in one of them. Had to ask more than once for this to be removed from the bill. Then we had to wait a very long time for our main courses to arrive. Also had to check a few times for them. When they arrived, they were unseasoned, oily, and watery - not worth the wait.

The wait staff seemed to be clueless, on their phones, smoking, or chatting. Nobody came to check on us or give us fresh cutlery.

The toilets are not good. A bit dirty and the doors don’t lock. I had an old man open my cubicle door even though I called out it was occupied! Quite unsettling. The lights are also on a short timer so you may be left in the dark.
