I Gerolomini Trattoria tipica Napoletana — Restaurant in Naples

Seemed like a good place to grab a quick bite, not too busy. We were seated quickly. Then the problems started. We ask for house red and a bottle of water. Waiter drops them off then leaves. Wife grabbed a menu from a table over because we never got one. We looked through it and settled on some pasta, should be quick right? We finally flag a waiter down after about 10 minutes and place our order. 30 minutes after we placed our order, we ask a waiter if there is an issue with our food. We tell him we’ve been waiting for some time and had noticed other tables that had arrived before us also had no food. Waiter says he’s going to check. 5 minutes and he comes back, should be right out. We get up and go towards the register were I suspect the manager was the one ringing up checks. We tell him we are leaving, we’d like to pay for the wine (which was sub-par, even for house wine) and the bottle of water. He asks why and we have to go through the whole “we’ve been waiting for food for about 30-40 minutes and it hasn’t arrived” again. He leaves to check the kitchen and comes back, your food is coming right out. At this point I decline and state we just want to leave. He then rings us up for 14.50......14.50 for crappy wine, hot fizzy water and the pleasure of waiting 45 minutes to realize I’m not going to be eating at that restaurant. Paid the bill, left, grabbed a kebab down the road. On the way back to our hotel, we passed by to see that one of the tables that had ordered before us was still waiting for their food. Loved this place! I was there with my dad and the place was empty - we had the entire place for ourselves - I do not understand why. If this was in DC area - they would have lines to get in! This was The only clean and pretty place on the street (we walked a mile and tried to so sit in few places before walking in)-without any trash around, neither any trash smell at the tables nor people smoking (I had to leave few restaurants because of this! ) The food was delicious and beautifully arranged, prices are reasonable and the staff is amazing! The atmosphere is relaxing, the decor is beautiful and unique. A little longer wait time for the food, but it absolutely worth it! I can say, that within my 10 days in different parts of Italy, the entrecote was one of the tastiest ones and the Most beautiful one. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any more place left to try the dessert, but I’m definitely returning for it on...

Sono in vacanza per 3 giorni con mia moglie e mia figlia di 1 anno a Napoli, città dell’ospitalità e del buon caffè. Vogliamo mangiare pesce, cerchiamo su TripAdvisor e prenotiamo qui con il 20% di sconto e attratti da una recensione Pessima di un cliente che lamenta la mancata richiesta di Green Pass e l’incasso in contanti senza scontrino.

Io, che lavoro col pubblico, ripudio il Green Pass e posso comprendere del nero per ogni attività, decido di andare a mangiare qui pensando di trovare un ambiente empatico.

Entriamo, locale deserto, ci accolgono la proprietaria alla cassa, la caposala e altri 3 camerieri, tutti schierati. Ci indicano il tavolo e ci chiedono il Green Pass. Io, mentre mia moglie e la bambina si siedono, simpaticamente espongo la mia riluttanza nel volerlo mostrare e che anzi ho scelto il locale anche perché pensavo non lo chiedessero. Spiego loro che IL GREEN PASS CE L’ABBIAMO ma che la richiesta di vederlo è ILLEGALE e noi esercenti non dovremmo farlo. Lo scambio di battute prosegue per qualche minuto in cui tutti loro mi danno ragione, ci chiedono di fare una recensione sottolineando che l’hanno chiesto e ci fanno sedere.

Pochi minuti dopo però la proprietaria viene al tavolo dicendo “ora però fatemi vedere il Green Pass”. Noi increduli glielo mostriamo. VIOLAZIONE DELLA PRIVACY, MANCANZA DI EMPATIA, MANCATA FIDUCIA DELLA PAROLA DEL CLIENTE.

Fossimo stati da soli ce ne saremmo andati, ma la bambina aveva troppa fame.

Quindi prendiamo solo una pasta per la bimba (pagata ben 8€, +2€ per il suo coperto, mai pagato il coperto in un ristorante per mia figlia), due fritture per noi (discrete) e due caffè (pessimi, freddi e annacquati)

Dulcis in fundo: Alla cassa la proprietaria “si dimentica” lo sconto di TripAdvisor, quindi rettifica solo dopo averglielo fatto notare i 48€ in 40.90€. Pago in contanti, non avendo moneta le do tre banconote da 20€. Anziché dirmi “va bene 40” mi da il resto di 19.10€. NON STAMPA LO SCONTRINO ma solo un resoconto tavolo non fiscale, grazie e arrivederci. POESIA.

MORALE: Le anime Oscure non sanno distinguere le Leggi giuste da seguire.. seguono solo quelle che convengono a loro, ignorando le Leggi che regolano l’Umanità.. auguro presto loro...
